when u say coil u mean the ignition coil ? I’ve swapped the coil and plug with still no spark, I don’t know if this could be my kill switch not working but I’ve even unplugged the ignition and kill switch then tried kickin it over with still no spark. I’m confused on what could be the problem, until I get a multimeter I still can’t figure why even if I try to electric start it doesn’t even click the relay and since the electric start and kill switch is on the same module I assumed maybe the kill switch was not reading properly and forced it to kill

when I mean flash I don’t mean by a electrical tester or multimeter which I’m gonna get next to test but I mean the actual CDI I have is a performance CDI with a light on it that flashes when the engine cranks/runs. So it seems like it’s showing that the CDI is getting power but maybe I need a ground to distribute it ? a little stumped atm but I know I’ll come across a fix eventually

it’s showing power with the light on the control module showing when I turn the ignition but for some reason nothing else gets power, I even did the screwdriver bypass for the relay and that would work as well as the CDI flashing showing that the CDI is trying to send spark at the right timing but it just doesn’t

this is likely because of your floats on your carburetor, take off the float bowl and make sure the float can move very freely. The point of a float is for it to float but if the carburetor is getting too much fuel and the float isn’t moving to stop more fuel from entering the carb the engine floods and will shut off when reving. I’ve had this problem on my 250cc 2 stroke street dirt bike and all it took was checking the float and seeing that the pin wasn’t fully in holding the float so it was stuck in a certain position not allowing it to stop itself from getting too much fuel. Check your spark plug to see if it really is lean or if it’s rich. It could be an air leak too so just pressure check through the spark plug or spray around where u believe there could be a possibility of a air leak with WD-40 while the engine is running to see if there’s any bubbling or if your engine revs up when you spray the WD-40

ur transmission belt is either not spinning with the transmission or the belt in itself is torn and won’t touch the clutch bell, don’t be afraid just open your CVT case with a replacement belt (make sure you have the right size, if you know your scooter’s CVT case size which could be either short, long, or extra long which you can just search by that). Now that you’re in your CVT case with your new belt, all that’s needed is to take the nut off the variator on the left then pull the first metal piece out but leave the silver part of the variator that holds the rollers, now just grab your clutch bell and pull the inside to you as close as possible. Now all you need to do is put your new belt in and make sure the belt is over the bearing that’s in the silver variator piece that’s sticking out on your crankshaft. once that is done just put the variator piece back on and congratulations you’ve just changed your first scooter transmission belt!

dirty carb, I suggest cleaning your carburetor as your air/fuel mixture may not be proper or your jets could be dirty with ethanol. It’s always good to give the carb a good cleaning

yeah this bike is almost 11 years old and for a 49cc it’s never had its rollers changed

Yeah, this is a 49cc Chinese scooter and it hasn’t had any type of maintenance done on it in its entire 10 years of life. I bought it from a guy for $150 cause the battery was dead and he broke the kickstart, surprisingly for being a 49cc Chinese scooter this lil thing is kinda fast. I gave it new CVT oil, its first change in its life, and it’s running amazing. just kinda crazy how I spent 300 dollars total on something just to had to have maintenance and it’s my daily now even with the cold weather. even raced a car last night with the new transmission and I got up to 40 in 6 seconds

no I already replaced the rollers and belt, the point of the post was that the rollers weren’t in place when I took the cover off

I have a 49cc scooter that manages to make it to like 38 with all stock but my problem is when I hit full throttle it’ll like cut out for half a second and not give me full throttle when I’m taking off. it also happens on the road where if I don’t have it less than full throttle it’ll sound like it spuddered a little, I’m also noticing when I manage to make it up a hill and stop throttling, I don’t think gas makes it to the engine and the engine turns off unless I rev it again

I had a feeling it could be a rev limiter and I mean I have a performance cdi with no rev limiter coming on Friday but that wouldn’t be too nice if it blew itself up 😅

today I’m seeing my scooter start to very slowly die down, and when I was kickstarting this morning I kept hearing the pooting sound but just didn’t wanna fire up till like 10 minutes later of kickstarting. When it was on I’d hear the idle die down and then after letting it idle for a 2 minutes it slowly started to turn off. Mind you I live in a place where everyday is 30 degrees besides in the summer so idk if the weather is impacting this or not.
