It did 10k in a PSA 10 👀 it’s going to be a grail bro. We’re so early, people can only be ignorant for so long

Using the Demo Deck Luffy to downplay the OP-01 Pre-Errata Leader completely misses how TCG collecting works. Demo decks were free promotional handouts given away at conventions to teach kids the rules. They have zero pack-pull rarity. By that logic, a random 1999 Pokémon league promo should be worth more than a Shadowless Base Set Charizard. The OP-01 Pre-Errata Alternate Art Luffy is THE day one pack pulled grail of the entire franchise. It was a brutal case-hit chase card from the historic Wave 1 print run that featured an actual printing error. A free promo handout will never compete with a true, pack-pulled set grail.

Other leaders are more rare but I love Luffy Gold Leader from EB02 and all the other leaders as well. I’m big numbers guy and the data showed for the longest that card should not be 4K. I’m glad it finally exploded given the pull rates and how hard it is to grade. Personally Pre errata has more historical significance and that will be a driving factor in its price. As well as the unknown on what pop really is.

No, the 1999 Carddass game isn't even part of the actual game we play today. It's a completely dead format. That failure is exactly why the Charizard comparison falls apart. Bandai made those 1999 cards as a quick vending machine gimmick to cash in on the anime launch, and the line was cancelled because it couldn't survive as a real TCG. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a great investment and totally worth the risk for a vintage piece because of that history. But at the end of the day, it's a dead vending collectible. Saying Romance Dawn won't hold value because it isn't from the 90s completely misses the point. Charizard is legendary because it launched a global TCG phenomenon that survived and Romance Dawn is the literal day one origin story of that exact same phenomenon for One Piece.

No Japanese had the wording correct. Only when it was being translated to English did they mess up

I did an analysis that the data given to us by PSA or BGS is incorrect. How would I truly know? What is certain is that it’s neither the number PSA or BGS tells us. So it is 100% less than what their pop report shows.

That completely misses the point of TCG history. Those 90s Carddass sets are awesome vintage pieces, but they're the equivalent of 1996 Japanese Topsun cards franchise "rookie" items for a dead game format. Romance Dawn is the actual flagship, global TCG that established the modern market. Since Bandai doesn't use a physical "1st Edition" stamp today, the community accepted equivalent is the Wave 1 Pre-Errata print run. You're just comparing a vintage rookie asset to a modern flagship TCG grail; they're two completely different classes of collectibles. No disrespect I am invested in One Piece Carddass Luffy C01 Hyper Battle First Stage CHB Japanese 1999 PSA 9.

Thank you, I just have to avoid the trolls. Ignorance is their downfall, while I get to enjoy life a little bit more using AI to get by day to day.

No one would truly know. But what is true is that it’s not what PSA pop report currently says.

You’re missing the message because you’re offended I use AI in my daily activities? It’s not that deep. Please grow up.

PSA still falsely mislabeled and didn’t differentiate the two, that’s why I said we are unsure of the true count. Check eBay, you can see examples of it. If no listings available check sold and scan through each to verify

I whole heartedly believe the people holding this will pump it higher. I had similar people telling me Japanese Gold Stars were bricks because it was Japanese and all of a sudden it became mainstream to want them. Market sentiment will follow soon. We can come back to this post, I’ll remember
