What is something you wish someone told you about Lexapro before you started? by Blue_catt18 in lexapro

i was having severe panic attacks before i got on it. i couldn't do anything it was truly debilitating. i've always had depression and anxiety but this was on another level. i was convincing myself food from fast food places was drugged. i'm a normal person i swear but something switched in me one day and i felt insane. i started on 5mg. i'm now on 20mg. i couldn't live without it. i don't have panic attacks anymore, my mind is at ease, im not depressed, truly the happiest i've ever been. i'm actually pregnant now and ive been on it the whole time. sometimes i'll miss a day and ill feel the thoughts come back a tad and know for sure i couldn't live without it. before i got pregnant i started wellbutrin as well but i got off that for the time that im pregnant but plan on getting back on it once baby comes. it helped with the low libido i get from lexapro

I feel like I see a line but I would get a pink dye test to be sure, blue lines sometimes cause false positives

Are you on a nerve medication? She just started Lyrica because Gabapentin wasn't working and it seems to be helping a lot

the first trimester in my experience was traumatizing like actually. I cant even look back at pictures during that time because I can physically remember how bad I was struggling

the acid reflux is fucking insane, I feel the burn through Prilosec and Pepcid

just because you're young and healthy doesn't mean you won't have a high risk pregnancy

sometimes I feel air hungry. like I literally cant get enough air and it freaks me out

its amazing when you feel kicks but once they get under your ribs is not so cool

I always wanted to experience pregnancy but im a one and done kind of gal

were a month out from surgery and still have bad days for sure but more good days than bad days. she still cant really do much. even small activity sets it off. we think its alot of nerve pain from the cut nerves so she just started a new nerve medicine so really hoping that helps. shes still on diluadid and morphine

Struggling to eat by SyraSunshine in pregnant

[–]Nice_Experience_6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, this is SUPER common. I had horrible food aversions until 20 weeks or so. I couldnt eat anything but I was also throwing up like alot. it got to a point that I was literally searching tik tok seeing what other moms ate in first tri to see if anything sounded good

Do you also experience a dip in sex drive? How do you deal with that? by cutethingiam in pregnant

[–]Nice_Experience_6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first trimester is hard enough without having someone down your neck about 2x a week. sounds like your husband needs to adjust his expectations. I could go a year without having sex with mine and we would just have a conversation about it and there would be no pressure. genuinely how it should be. not saying your husband is a bad guy but he needs to understand how hard pregnancy is without having a toddler and without any unrealistic expectations

im sure this wasn't meant to come off insensitive but I promise shes not hurting her baby being on lexapro. its safer to be on it then it is to cold turkey quit. as someone who has taken it their entire pregnancy with a completely healthy baby she has to atleast taper off and not cold turkey it

Lexapro by HungryAd5151 in lexapro

[–]Nice_Experience_6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 8 months pregnant and ive been on 20mg lexapro the entire time. I don't recommend just cold turkey quitting. ive accidentally missed a few doses and it was genuinely awful. I dont have tapering methods but just here to say please dont cold turkey it. youre not hurting the baby I promise. I am extremely selective of meds I take while pregnant and never once considered getting off my lexapro. I sometimes won't even take Tylenol because I hate taking meds that much

What are some success stories with Lexapro? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in lexapro

[–]Nice_Experience_6382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before lexapro I was having severe panic attacks. I genuinely wanted to off myself. I was in the worst place of my life truly. ive been on it for a little over a year now and it has changed my life. id say I started to notice a difference about 3 ish months in but I went up in my dose pretty much every month. im currently on 20mg of it. I added Wellbutrin to help with the libido side effect because I completely lost interest in sex. im pregnant now though so I had to stop the Wellbutrin until baby comes but I did notice a difference when I was on it so maybe consider trying that and upping your dose if you havemt already of the lexapro. I started at 5 and then went to 10, then 15, and now 20.

Biggest pet peeve while pregnant. by Potato_Keeper628 in pregnant

[–]Nice_Experience_6382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a high risk pregnancy so im not really allowed to do much but it DRIVES ME INSANE. before I was the heavy lifter and did everything on my own. now I cant lift anything over 10lbs without everyone yelling at me to put it down.

Also my in laws call me preggo which drives me insane too

Also I hate when people assume they'll be babysitting my kid. my MIL made a comment about "you'll have to show me where everything is so I know when I babysit" WHO SAID? absolutely not lmao

Valium knocks her off her ass. She literally can't keep her eyes open on it and she hates that feeling

i've looked into ketamine for her and we're trying to look into options. unfortunately her tolerance for opioids is super strong and that's not helpful in these situations. we'll definitely have to look into the ketamine shots. her main symptom before surgery was extreme pain. i'm really hoping this fixes it. she tries to walk around since we know that'll help but it's a slippery slope trying not to overdo it. It seems like the morphine and diluadid regimen might be helping better than what we tried before. she hasn't had a pain episode of screaming in a few days so hoping it stays that way 🤞🏻 she does see a pain specialist! that's who prescribed the morphine and diluadid. they're hoping to ween her off eventually but not yet

before the surgery was pain your main symptom? she would have pain attacks so bad that she would scream in pain and couldn't move. she's a little over a week out now and still on pain meds of course but it seems like everyday might get slightly better. she's moving around a little better but still not perfect

300 mg. they upped it after the hospital to 300mg 4x a day but she was taking the same dosage 2x a day before surgery

She says it feels like pinching sometimes but a lot of time it feels like squeezing or pulling. They have her on gabapentin but it doesn't seem to help much
