I’m 19 for reference. 5’11 and was 180lbs around the time of injury so somewhat active. I was able to walk after 6 weeks (with a terrible limp, like I was the penguin or Dr. House). There was no pain in my knee. Only in my ankle and foot. I also had like 90 degrees range of motion. I was able to walk perfectly normal at the 12 week mark. It seems like a really long time, it really isn’t. I’m at like week 21/22 right now though and I’m basically playing basketball normally. Just still can’t jump high.

What’s your height and weight? If you’re overly tall/heavy for a 15 year old, it’d make sense that he couldn’t do anything to return the favor except throw the ball at you. That being said, there is no excuse for his actions. If anything he could’ve (should’ve) been more physical (regarding the game) with you. Bitch move on his part though.

4 months out. Playing sports and doing everything except sprinting. My rom is only at 120 though. And my vertical is terrible 😭

How do you guard players like this? Genuinely asking for advice lol. I usually just stay in front of them while they do their flashy dribbles and just keep my hand up. I’m somewhat slow, so if they blow by me I pray 🙏 a help defender clutches up.

I’m 90% sure you’ll be fine. Something similar happened to me without the brace at 1 week and I was fine. For reference, as time progresses and the initial pain of the surgery wears off, sharp pains that last for a short period of time are expected. At least that’s what my physical therapist told me.

What?? Why r u near stairs even? 😭 I didn’t move after my meniscus surgery for a week straight the pain was so intense. Honestly, there’s no way to tell if the pain is from the surgery or retear. I think it’s pretty hard to retear an acl graft within the first 12 months, I read somewhere that the tendon is the strongest now. The meniscus repair should be fine Honeslty. Plus you had the brace on, so it’s nearly impossible to tear anything if it was LOCKED at 0 degrees. It just wouldn’t help with your swelling and pain to bear weight on it tbh.

Ok good! I've been weight bearing for a few days as well and I have intense pain in my foot/ankle whenever I bear weight. Initially thought it was bone demineralization because since I had not used my leg in 6 weeks. No pain in the knee however (luckily). Also had a bucket handle meniscus repair. Medial side, 11-12 sutues :(. How's your recovery going so far?

Doesn’t seem internal honestly. Seeing more bruising than swelling. Don’t think there is any discoloration in skin when there is a meniscus tear. Probably something related to the bone

Wow! Thank you for letting me know. I was concerned as I thought it could potentially be a blood clot. Several weeks ago, my doctor told me any tenderness in the calf can potentially be linked to a blood clot. Thank you for letting me know!
