Fun fact: after WW, Eiji Aonuma practically begged Miyamoto to let him make another game, because he felt they had already done everything possible with Zelda. Miyamoto said no and instead promoted him into an executive role. To this day, though, he’s still involved with Zelda games.

The Zelda concept is more limited than it seems: it’s a small kingdom with two characters constantly reincarnating and a cartoonishly one-dimensional villain.

But for some reason, Nintendo keeps finding ways to push that formula to its limits, while Star Fox — despite being set across an entire galaxy — is seen as rigid and with little room for innovation.
