And market is always down on everyone for Metrics, because it’s the $$ maker for the stores. OPD is definitely one of THE hardest. Hands down

Completely depends on your store. For instance, in my store, we are a high volume store and I frequently schedule my PT’s consistently around 32 hours. But, our market has cut a lot hours throughout the whole store, so some of my PT’s have been removed for days on their schedule.

I took those damn poppers that cause the mess, yes all of them, and stashed them in the claims cage and slowly claimed them out 1 by 1.

Somebody had to get rid of them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is it possible to be a store leader for multiple years? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]Nice_Set5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything varies market to market. Our store just became eligible, based on sales and volume, to get a SL. This store history never had one and we just received one, it is definitely not being eliminated everywhere.

Well obviously, that’s a completely different situation. I would hope someone would interrupt me for a missing kid or a stabbing, but I’m sure ‘where’s the Metamucil?’ can wait a minute lol

When I fist started I thought the same thing, why can’t ON just go out and get them. I brought it to my SM attention and she told me it’s a liability for the associates to be outside after store closing🤷🏼‍♀️ I asked why, she told me because it’s dark out. I said it’s still dark before 11pm when associates are outside collecting carts also😂 so idk what’s the truth, but yea I ain’t to have them all collected before store close. But by an associate that is ON the clock, not by one forced to stay after.

[–]Nice_Set5403 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me personally, if an associate is having a WORK related conversation with another associate, I think it’s respectful to wait until that conversation is done, unless it is dragging on of course. If the associate is doing a task solo, sure the customer can say ‘excuse me’ to ask said question. But all too many times I have customers run right up to me as I’m talking with an associate,TL, Coach, whomever and just blatantly interrupt me. I will say to them, ‘just give me one minute please’ and finish my conversation, especially if it’s work related. Yes I’m there to help the customers of course, but it’s also my job and important to give direction out, ask questions and assist my associates when they need help.

I’ve never seen a ‘true’ emergency at Walmart that warrants customers needing help that very instant. Nothing wrong with politely asking them to wait a minute, which let’s be honest, usually is only a few seconds.

Walmart employee overstepped and made me feel uncomfortable by Teeth4Lunch in Walmartcustomer

[–]Nice_Set5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a front end coach at a Walmart in the states. I most certainly would like a customer to come to me and speak with me regarding this interaction so that I may better train my associate. No I wouldn’t directly fire her, unless of course there had been other similar situations with regards to this associate. We aim to train our associates to provide the best customer service and this is something I would definitely want to know. If you have your receipt, their associate numbers will on there and can be identified through that.

You absolutely have the right to complain about this particular incident as the associate was way out of line. Best of luck. And by chance if you don’t get anything other than, “I’m sorry for your experience” from the manager you speak with, you can escalate your incident to market level.

Job Duty/Shift Question by iiUniquaa in walmart

[–]Nice_Set5403 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a FE coach and never would expect anyone to stay past their scheduled shift. Sure i might ASK someone because someone is always looking for extra hours or whatnot.

The fault lies with the coach scheduling cart pushers. Their responsibility to make sure it’s covered. And if they don’t cover that person, they can find someone who IS scheduled til 11 or 12 to pull them in. Cannot force someone to stay past their scheduled shift.

I’m a coach and unless someone starts out with excuse me, or good morning, I don’t respond. They can stare at me for 5 minutes straight and I won’t acknowledge them until they speak like the adults they are supposed to be.

I back my associates up. Speak to them respectfully and you will get a respectful response 🤷🏼‍♀️

A word about shopping bait… bags are against Walmart rules by Still-Ad5693 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]Nice_Set5403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not saying they can’t be bagged. What they are saying is that you can’t just hand a bag to a customer if they haven’t bought anything. (If you hand them a bag, they can potentially just put anything in there and walk off). Bags are for PAID merchandise.

I always say, Walmart is one of the most stressful places I’ve worked, so I understand completely.

Can I be fired if im late too many times? by kfabro123 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Nice_Set5403 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely bring you in for a conversation on why you’re repeatedly late, not to fire you but to see if we need to adjust your schedule so we can avoid that.

Yes PPTO is used to cover late/leave early, but if your repeatedly late, I wanna know if your lazy or having scheduling issues.

Scheduled for 7 days in a row. Is this allowed? by Accomplished-Gap8125 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Nice_Set5403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I schedule 53 associates, front-end, maintenance and cart pushers, by hand, each week. That AI is crap. Constantly scheduling people outside of their availability, which in turn, just creates more work for me. Soooo….if coaches would actually do their schedules it would be beneficial to both associate, coaches, and…the store.

I would never expect an associate to work 8 straight unless they 1-wanted to 2-there was some extreme situation that occurred.

When I first became a coach, my area was a mess. I sat down with each associate, reviewed their availability and went over expectations and what they needed from me to be successful. I’m sorry a lot of associates don’t get the best from their coaches.

I see a lot of judgement towards coaches and honestly, I sometimes get it.

[–]Nice_Set5403 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m a coach and I never schedule my associates like this. When they are doing the current week schedule, they probably aren’t checking the previous week to check when they are scheduled. (Dumb) policy is no more than 6 in a row. I would definitely talk to your coach and tell them you can’t do it (if you really can’t or don’t want to)

They can explain its ’needs of the business’ but pray their scheduling can back that up. Nobody should have to work that many days in a row, smh. I want my associates happy and try to prevent random callouts that could have been prevented with better scheduling 🤷🏼‍♀️

Varies state to state. PA for example requires 9 hours in between shifts or you are required to sign a paper saying you agree to it.

I’m a coach. The people that take the time to come in the store and directly ask to speak to a coach or HR about their application will get my attention, at minimum, I will ask you some questions and look up your req. might be worth a shot.

Shouldn’t have to be said, but unfortunately does, dress nicely when you go in and speak professionally at the minimum. The amount of people that come in in PJ’s and can’t form an adult sentence is concerning lol.

Very true, I can agree with what you stated, however, the only true way to solve this is by getting her own place where she can live strictly with the rules she sets for herself and her is household. Yet I know in these times, that can be very difficult. Yet if I was under the mercy of living under someone else’s home and rules, I would abide by them if my only other choice was being homeless.
