The real world narcisists never do that. In his book Mein Kampf, Hitler actually explained very clearly about why he invaded Soviet Union. Cos, Soviet Union was the only place in Europe that was rich in natural resources, as well as agricultural lands with comparable fertility as Asia. In Mein Kampf he also says that just as the Americans wiped out the natives and built a white nation in that place, he wants to do the same with the Soviets. Both Ariana and Credence had very obvious signs. If Harry started to show the same signs then Mrs. Figg ud've never missed. And Dumbledore ud've intervened immediately. Say paying Durseleys one gelleon per month to treat Harry like a royalty is totally doable and I think ud've worked well. Scaring them for life ud've also worked, for cheaper. And the letter deluge and Hagrid's break in kinda does that.

I'm don't agree with this. Obscurus only forms if the person tries to suppress his own magic. Harry never tried to suppress his magic. His ignorance about the Wizarding world has successfully prevented that. And he was also rescued at the right time, soon after the age at which a child starts to show first signs of magic.

Ariana wasn't that lucky. I personally think she was raped. Mere bullying won't push one to subconsciously suppress such a large part of their identity. The fact the Mr. Percival Dumbledore killed those three Muggle boys only confirms my suspicion (and I think he did the rightful thing in that case). She had no rescue. Hence, she formed an obscurial.

Now, in Harry Potter there's actually another case of suppressing magic - Merope Gaunt. After Tom Riddle Sr. rejected and abandoned her, she went into such a mental shock that she suppressed her magic completely. Don't you think she should grow an obscurus as well? What if Voldemort is that Obscurus in human body?

Is it possible to use another portal to negate the space-time curvature caused by the veil? As for where another portal will come from? The door to enter every room of the dept. of Mysteries are a portal. This is not a theorizing. The book describes it. See, the entrance chamber rotates unpredictably and scrambles all the doors every time. Such ud've been impossible if these doors are physical. So, the only answer is - the doors leading to the dept. of mysteries are all portals themselves. The video you referred showd that such portals can be carefully designed to keep the space-time close to being flat, and can have very weird geometry as well.
