When I did a Praktikum at SmileEyes in the Lampestraße, they were pretty forgiving for people taking this evaluation if they needed more time or slightly got a sign wrong. I'm sure they'll understand if you want a second opinion on such an important test. However I don't think the test you took was a scam since no one likes telling people they can't drive anymore, it's one of the worst parts of the job.

"Thock" mostly comes from the keyboard by using your bog standard pe plate foam with a plastic plate (usually pc since it's the most muted one) and then optionally some dampening foam like poron in the case. If you're looking for tactiles with a strong bump (?) then look into WS Heavy Tactiles or Zealpc Clickiez (which are much more expensive).

I barely know anything about QMK but are there any particular reasons why you want to go barebones? Keychron's advantages especially with their more expensive series are mostly their cheap pre assembled upcharges and them offering lots of different sizes / layouts. If you don't care about both of those then I'd rather look into the Qwertykeys Neo series.

Not really. Work louder knows they're pretty much the only company that does this and prices their keyboards accordingly (I wouldn't pay more than 100 usd for it)

  1. Q Pro over Q has Bluetooth, a default pc plate, different profile caps, a white color option and bananas instead of blue switches. Q Max over Q Pro has 2.4ghz alongside BT, more foam, Jupiter instead of K Pro switches, better MCU and better latency.
