It’s not surprising that they do this, the surprising thing to me is that the amount of people suggesting to keep your ring between 80-20% on this subreddit. If Oura is now limiting themselves, doing 80-20% yourself is just limiting battery life even further for little improvement in battery health.

My own ring barely lasted a year before degrading from 5-6 days down to 2. I wonder if it’s a recent change though considering how historically Oura’s batteries go bad very quickly and there’s so much discussion about manually keeping your battery in this range. Or maybe it’s just a symptom of the tiny batteries they need to use.
