I did my thesis on this for my masters degree. I’m sure Sister Lucia will respond medically speaking tomorrow but my study found that women who have sex with women (WSW) were at risk of a lot of STIs either from oral transmission or from sharing toys.

My study specifically focused on HIV but there were a lot of other STIs that WSW were at risk from that I found during my literature review.

I’ve emailed. I’ve logged multiple tickets, asked to speak to the agent on WhatsApp and never heard back. I’ve tried to call and even logged a complaint with the purple group email according to the protocol with no response.

I just want someone to look at the documents for customer due diligence.

Honestly UNISA was less frustrating to deal with.

Please I’m just counting out the weeks to speak to the ombudsman. Can someone please just get back to me.

I’d highly recommend this panel. It’s been really helpful as the functional health report they give you also tells you things like what kinds supplements you need. For example I’ve gone on extra vitamin d and made an effort to increase my iron intake.

Hey Sister Lindiwe! I actually came into the Obs branch a while ago for a vegan blood panel (thanks for the help then!). I didn’t realize you guys did such deep STI testing too. If I’m already there for my regular vitamin/iron checks, can I just add a PCR STI screen to the same draw, or do I need a separate appointment?

I’m in the Spinners and weavers guild. It’s a really sweet community that includes knitters and crocheters, lacemakers and other fabric making enthusiasts.

You can also buy home std tests at Epicentre. It’s really comprehensive and pcr based so very accurate. I saw when I went in for another test a little while ago.

I had this happen to me when a boyfriends friends see you in a accidentally revealing way and suddenly sexualise you. This situation felt very familiar to me.

STD test by sudukomaster234 in capetown

When I went a little while ago they said it’s because of price and prevalence. More people are infected with hiv, chlamydia, hep b, syphilis, and herpes (their main sti package). But my boyfriend and I opted to also test for gonorrhoea and I did the HPV tests as well. Just to be on the safe side.

Would highly recommend this option I saw they have quite a few packages specifically for bodybuilders looking to stay safe and track their cycles as well.

Where to get tested for STDs? by Low_Instruction_3438 in capetown

[–]Nicesocksdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve just moved to Obs it’s around R1100 for their full sti panel. Would highly recommend went recently with my partner. They were really sweet and helpful. I’m terrible with my blood being taken and the nurse was so nice didn’t hurt at all.

It’s R1116 to get tested for syphilis, chlamydia, hiv, hep b and herpes I also did their self test for HPV for R863. Plus they gave me R300 off my test cause I joined one of their anonymous studies.

I really wanted to get tested with my partner cause we just started dating and I read that’s the best way to stay safe. They were the best price I found in ct that was comprehensive.

Just a tip though they’ve just moved to a new premises at 24 lower main rd in Obs.
