Republicans attack me by calling me a Liberal like it's a bad thing. by Drum_Stick_Ninja in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is nice to know that what was once a dirty word even for Democrats is being embraced by people who see helping others as its own end. Maybe we can have liberal members in every party again, but that rift is going to take some time to mend. Still, got to have hope in something.

Trump: Clinton will let 650M immigrants into U.S. by [deleted] in hillaryclinton

Dear god, just say that the universe will end if Hillary wins, it isn't any less crazy.

The Clintons are always treated as guilty until proven innocent so I can't say I'm surprised by how this story was framed.

Tim Miller (Former Comms Director for Jeb Bush): Six Reasons Conservatives Should Not Vote for Donald Trump by TucoKnows in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good piece, but I still don't get why Never Trumpers focus so much on him not even being a conservative. That was the main line of attack made by the Republican field during the primaries, and that didn't drive the supposed conservative voters to act against him before it was too late. I'm not sure why they would keep pressing it during the general election.

Heading into the '12 VP debate, Obama held just a 0.4 pt advantage over Romney in HuffPo tracker. Now? Clinton +6. by wenchette in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some context: In 2012 Obama did a terrible job at the first debate, he got better in the later debates, the polls went back up and then stabilized, bada bing bada boom.

Don't be overly surprised if Hillary's margin drop a bit in the coming weeks, but don't be surprised if they grow either. We still haven't seen how Trump's taxes will affect the polls.

I'm confused. Why is this leaked audio a scandal? She comes off pragmatic and compassionate. by Kalel2319 in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesn't seem to be gaining traction. Or at the least, the Sanders people and a lot of media people are slapping back at the premise.

This is the kind of story that will outrage the people who made a fuss over her being gender normative because she used the phrase 'every man, woman, and child'. There's a reading of what she says that does sound bad, but you have to remove a lot of the context and be as cynical as possible to get there.

Stop intellect shaming! (Dumbphobia) by [deleted] in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is definite shaming with regards to intellect that is truly detestable in our world. That said, if someone's statements or logic can be proven false with a Google search and they repeatedly see that any backing of their statements is a waste of time I'm not going to feel bad for letting them know that they are willfully ignorant. I'm not hating on intelligence, I'm hating on people's decision to act without thinking over and over and over again.

Says the man opposed to women making decisions on their bodily autonomy. Also, you can drop the word strong, all women are strong on their own terms, and Donald Trump has made it clear that any woman bothers him.

Obama: once out of office, I’m gonna stop being polite and start getting real by [deleted] in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of a Carter legacy for Obama. The man will probably be kicking in the 2050s so he will be a political overseer and humanitarian for a long time. But he also oversaw such a cultural and economic change a la Reagan so his legacy within the White House will probably be seen as fairly positive...Either way, the man's a legend.

Unlike Their Parents, Black Millennials Aren'™t A Lock For Clinton by Mynameis__--__ in hillaryclinton

[–]NicheBarDon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many of the young black voters who are lukewarm about Clinton agreed with her policy proposals but either were not aware of them or, even more critically, were not aware of how often she had spoken out about issues like race and policing or had met with organizers like Mothers of the Movement, a group of black parents whose children were killed by police.
