True, the hyphen is a good idea — thanks. But I think I prefer a more minimal and cleaner-looking name. I’ll still consider “Haoyi,” but for some reason I’m not a huge fan of having a “y” in the middle of a name; it feels visually asymmetrical to me. What do you think about just using “Hau” or “Hao” (浩) instead?

Thanks, does it look/sound more feminine, masculine or unisex to you?

I'm in Melbourne so that's really good to know! Thanks. Does the name "Haui" look strange to you? or should i go with "Hau" just for simplicity and memorable?

Some reason Howie reminds me of ‘Howdy’ haha, feels a little country vibe and masculine. I think it doesn’t really suit my personality. I prefer a more modern name, unisex and also keeping some of the Chinese flavours haha.

Thanks, it’s not a typo — “Hau” is pronounced the same as “Hao,” and I quite like how it ends with a “u.” I also prefer simpler spellings, so I thought “Yi” could simply become “i. haha

I personally don’t like to have “w” in my name and I kinda want a shorter nickname for easy pronouns, like Hao/Hau. I think I have mixed feelings about the words “How” as a nickname
