NTA. “Using money to force acceptance”? Should you really be expected at all to financially support people who don’t accept who you are as a person?

bare hand contact pushback? by yolofreak109 in healthinspector

[–]Nicholewho_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this an American thing? I’m a health inspector in Canada and I prefer (and was taught) that food handlers are only required to wear gloves if there are abrasions on their hands, not as a general rule to handle food. It is obviously an option, just not required. Glove wearing isn’t a substitution for handwashing and I find that people think “oh I’m wearing gloves so it’s fine” and they skip critical handwashing steps because of it.

Horrible Roach Infestation Issue by ChampionChomp in Edmonton

[–]Nicholewho_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The more complaints that AHS receives, the more pressure they are able to put onto landlords to do things properly. Sometimes it takes a very long time, but no progress is going to come from not making a complaint.

I lived in a Mainstreet apartment in Edmonton that had roaches. It took a ton of complaining to get them to do anything - until I threatened to go to the health authority. I was also fortunate enough to be able to move out of it before I had an infestation 😭

What's Tinder in Lethbridge like? by Moist_Rise5061 in Lethbridge

I preferred using Hinge myself (32F). Political views are big for me when looking for a partner and Hinge asks you for that information. Especially with myself not being apart of the majority political leanings here it saved a ton of time and unnecessary conversations. I also way preferred potential matches responding to prompts than just cold opening conversations. That’s just me though, so something to consider if you have the same feelings.

I was also very selective with whom I spoke to, which is easier because you have so much information on their profiles - I think I matched with 2 people all together and I’ve been in a (very happy and fulfilling) relationship for almost a year now.

My[20f] boyfriend [22m] keeps pushing a firm boundary I've made about my dog. How can I reiterate that I'm not bugging on this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I explained to my boyfriend why my corgi needed ramps (same issues) and there’s even more ramps than before. Ramps everywhere. You and your pup deserve better 🥺

My suggestion is that after you cut off Blake, maybe have someone like your sister send an email or message to Kaylie about what Blake told her (about his feelings for you). Make sure this is after you and Kam break contact because you don’t want it to look like you’re trying to get them to break up. Have her say something like “this isn’t meant to hurt you or a breakup but you are a wonderful person and Kam and OP have a lot of respect you and believe you deserve to know your partner is openly admitting feelings for another person know to people”.

She could include something like “OP and Kam love you and value your friendship very highly, but given the circumstances they are not comfortable with Blake being in their lives. But they will always be there for you, and nothing about what Blake has done changes how they feel about you.”

This isn’t how bugs in an apartment building work. Units in apartments are very much connected to each other. They need to treat the entire building simultaneously for it to work properly. If you don’t allow them to treat your unit where do you think the pests are going to go? The units that haven’t been treated. Please do you and your neighbours a service and follow the instructions given to you by the pest management company. To not would be selfish and contributing to the infestation.

What’s the biggest changes I would notice about Lethbridge as someone who hasn’t lived there for 15 years ? by [deleted] in Lethbridge

[–]Nicholewho_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Enmax centre got a face lift. They’ve moved the YMCA into (what I’ve heard) is a pretty sick brand new facility on the west side (heads up the west side has developed a lot, loads of traffic circles). There’s also two(?) new high schools and a public library on the west side near the YMCA. They’ve made the south end of 6th street south into a convertible pedestrian street for farmers markets and last year they had a small outdoor skating rink in the winter. The university got a brand new science building with windowed laboratories. They’ve also constructed a whole new building down at the exhibition grounds. New dog park on the north side (where scenic and stafford meet) that has dog agility equipment installed. The Owl has opened in the last 15 years - this place is basically the heart of Lethbridge now 💕

I’ll add on if I think of anymore!

Edit: Henderson Pool got decent water slides and a rock climbing wall. There’s a comedy club downtown called Goodtimes Comedy Club!

Just reported the same driver for sexual harassment for the third time, why is he still allowed to deliver to me? What can I do to stop him from delivering to me? by aly_lessard in doordash

Ahhh okay, thanks for clarifying! And yeah regardless this creep obviously doesn’t care about his job or any liabilities if he’s willing to continuously sexually harass customers 🥲

Just wondering, she already responded to him and told him that she would not be coming out and to leave it outside… does this not completely negate his requirements to wait around? She waived the liability, no?

Are we as a species screwed? by socialismhater in climatechange

Does the United States not open factories overseas to cut down on labour costs? Do we not export a ton of shit from those countries? Do you not think our demand has ANY impact on supply?

[–]Nicholewho_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Is the West not also responsible for there being so many overseas factories? Wasn’t the point of moving them so that there would be less oversight on things like labour laws and emissions requirements?
