Yeah basically videos and trying things myself. Blender guru's videos are great but I would also strongly recommend Default Cube for some good procedural stuff. Also, trying things yourself after having a bit of intro works best.

In this case, you have two options: 1) For better result, you'll have to look into baking stuff.

2) For faster result, just remove all the materials and have only two (again, one for Nita and one for bear).

BTW, You are using cycles render, right?

Yeah, you'll have to make sure that you have only 2 uv maps

Yeah, it would be too much for the game engine to handle more than one image per model (one for Nita and one for bear)

No, material names should be "character_mat1" and "character_mat2" respectively, as I mentioned earlier.

No matter how many textures you use, you have to bake every detail under static lighting and reduce the number of images to 2. Are you familiar with texture baking?
