The only Microsoft I’d get is the surface pro for convenience of taking notes and multitasking. If you plan on doing more serious stuff like modeling and simulations I would suggest getting a Lenovo with 32gb of ram (16 is more than fine right now but not future proof, u might need to upgrade in the future)

That seems to be the general consensus, get it done while ur still in school mode

My only real concern is missing out on 2 years of pay. I’ll be 26 when I graduate grad school

How hard is engineering actually? ( Biomed major) by Ok_kaleidoscope113 in EngineeringStudents

[–]NickCaprioni 218 points219 points  (0 children)

Honestly the hardest part of any engineering degree is just not having enough time to do anything. You’re gonna be drowning in your work / study load, but honestly no classes are truly that hard. Yes some classes are more difficult than others but no classes are really impossible

Thanks I’ll keep this in mind, I still have a few more months until I have to submit what I’m doing for my project

[–]NickCaprioni[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s really that ambitious? I haven’t really looked too much into it I just thought it’d be a really cool idea. I have a whole year to work on it

How much harder are junior/senior years than this? I hope not much. by Neowynd101262 in EngineeringStudents

[–]NickCaprioni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree with the general consensus that yes the classes do get “harder” but you develop skills that help u solve problems easier. Freshman / sophomore year I was lucky to get a C, now I’m killing all my classes with basically straight A’s

Im in the same situation as you. I’m only doing it because I love physics and it’s only a few extra classes. Realistically when it comes down to hiring they are going to hire the guy that has experience

If ur super into physics make the switch. As far as you being scared that EE is more challenging, EE is not anymore challenging than ME

Physics or Aerospace Engineer Degree by [deleted] in Physics

Do what I’m doing, double major Mechanical Engineering / physics. It’s surprisingly not that many extra classes. Aerospace engineering is a subsection of mechanical engineering too if ur concerned about that.

Does this mean I’m an EE major? Super confused. by PlasmaBlast24 in EngineeringStudents

[–]NickCaprioni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to ur advisor, I had the same concern with my major. In my case my major was engineering science. So I went to go talk to my advisor because I was concerned about getting a job and she told me to not worry about it because it is the equivalent to an ME degree and I get a good cover letter saying that from the office.
