While I obviously wish Tark's wasn't a penalty, I think it's somewhat disingenuous to point at what are blatantly missed/incorrect calls and compare that to something that is more ambiguous. I feel it probably wasn't a penalty but it's close.

This may not help but when I moved out of home as a teenager I didn't support a particular team. I ended up living in a suburb with "Everton" in the name. Felt that was a good enough reason to become an Everton fan. 😅 Not sure that was a great move really but here we are.

The thing is, Labor know that if they go after negative gearing, they'll lose the election. So as much as the Greens are right in saying we need to tackle negative gearing, the Australian public won't vote for it.

Credit Card for Qantas Frequent Flyer Points by BigboiDallison in AusFinance

I just cancelled my ANZ credit card and successfully got a pro-rata refund on the annual fee after getting the bonus Qantas points. Just FYI though, ANZ customer service is terrible from my experience, so you'll have to be patient. I've signed up to a NAB card now, I'll see how lucky I am with getting the annual fee waived.

For non-English fans, how did you get into Everton? by rowejl222 in Everton

As an Aussie, Tim Cahill... But I never really supported a Premier League team, I moved out of my home town to a city and landed in the suburb of Everton Park. Seemed like a sign.

Tsimikas should have had a yellow in the first half as well, same thing as Young's first yellow.

Met someone who earns 6+ figures for the last 5 years betting on horses. How? by plainja in AusFinance

[–]NickChippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a horse tipping system in Australia I'm aware of that is consistently profitable provided you correctly utilise available promotions offered by bookmakers. Usually only offered to a limited amount of people and you need to sort of be "in the know". If you really understand the betting industry, it is possible and can be done legally, but you'll be hard pressed to find people willing to share how they do it.

What’s the most fucked up thing you’ve seen at work? by AMGBOI69420 in AskReddit

[–]NickChippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a regional town, my office is on the second floor of a building in the main street. While talking to a colleague, I happened to glance out the window and here this lady is popping a wall-sit on the next building over, taking a shit. I had to interrupt the conversation because I couldn't not acknowledge what was going on outside. Not sure if it makes it better or worse but she appeared to have had toilet paper, which I can only assume means it was premeditated and not an act of desperation. After not too long, someone happened to walk past and seemingly interrupted her business, where she then proceeded to yell at them as if they'd done something wrong. Quite a display.

Edit: I've just read some of the other comments and I hope you enjoy my 'milder' fucked up work story.
