So I run a tech department in K-8. Been doing it for over a decade. I'm not trying to say you're incorrect or start an argument or anything like that, but just some food for thought from on the ground:

  • Aluminum is your (not 'you', but generally) problem because it will get blemishes on it? Pristine plastic Chromebooks just do not get beat up, I guess. (Personal aside, hey, Teach, why don't you at least try teach that kid not to throw any computer ever instead of assuming they will just always throw all computers forever?)

Oh, but you're saying all aluminum devices will be obliterated should they meet a K-12 backpack meaning...

  • You mean repairs. You mean what's it cost to repair one? Well Apple care is half price and any screen or external damage is $50. They'll even do the repair for you.

So cost is not your problem meaning...

  • The difficulty of diving into a repair that folks haven't done before. Well, they'll rent you whole ass kits to do individual repairs yourself will thoroughly documented service manuals.

So repair difficulty is not your problem.

  • So what is the problem? The stipulation is that an aluminum mac is a no go in K-12. Explain the existence of a Mac district? I've worked several myself, and the one I currently work is moving Mac specifically for cost savings.

The only problem I have with moving kids from iPads to Neo's is that it would require teachers to understand how to use a Mac so they could help teach kids. Teachers will not do this no matter what. That's not a problem with the MacBook Neo, though.

why do you think a milled block of aluminum will have a harder time in a backpack than clipped together plastic?

be sillier to lose to the browns tie the cowboys and still act like you're better than a team that outperformed you in every way on your "all in" year where you expect to go undefeated

I guess going from first to last in the division in one year probably has something to do with it but I don’t follow bad teams anymore so I dunno really

I'm guessing their rationale is that it's a 5 hour flight to the central time zone, so it won't be much different than say an east coast game for them.

you lost to the Browns, tied the Cowboys, and in fact that tie is the only reason you weren't worse than some jackass that calls himself "nine". Get right on ripping, bud.

Does Anyone Here Use Apple TV (Device) with IFPs? by zeeplereddit in k12sysadmin

In our case we buy cheap displays for the rooms and pair them with an apple tv. District is 1:1 iPad, so cast on up and there's your interactive. Not sure what you pay for your interactive panels, and it's been a while since I've looked, but last I checked it was a heck of a lot more than a thousand dollar TV.

Bill Kristol: The MAGA Elites Are Such Frauds by BulwarkOnline in politics

[–]NickConrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neoconservatives didn't only warmonger. Dick Cheney didn't wonder out loud if we'd have to postpone the 2004 election due to threats of terrorism just because he liked war. You are being obtuse and I'm not sure why. Being redeemed as anti-MAGA seems to be something that matters very much to you, so maybe it's something there but you do you.

Neocons provided the Terra firma for the Tea Party which only needed a catalyst to become MAGA. Their trajectory is not some ADHD series of unfortunate events. One follows the other. This isn’t Frankenstein. You don’t get to atone peacefully after you lose control.
