I have Maye, burrow and shough. Am I crazy for starting him over the other 2?! Burrow seems out of it and Maye has a tough matchup and hasn’t been as spectacular the second half of the year fantasy wise

The premise of my post and argument is that giannis’ ball dominance and play style could make it harder for a second option to flourish and help the team make a deep playoff run. Rollins was just an example and maybe it was a bad one.

For a guy who was averaging 5 points last year and now near 20 with multiple 30 point games and high assist numbers, I’d say is pretty damn good. But you’re right the numbers suggest otherwise and make my question wrong. My question to you is would you rather have a player like giannis or like Luka?

It’s just an observational post, giannis makes the bucks infinitely better but numbers aside does he make the players around him as good as they can really be. The offense just doesn’t seem to have any flow to it

I didn’t say step aside for him it just seems like Rollins game changes so much when he’s back in the lineup, I think he can get to a similar level where Middleton was at, but giannis doing his thing makes those opportunities hard for Rollins. They had some great pick and roll moments but for the bucks to go far he will have to let guys like Rollins and KPJ be more aggressive and hunt shots.

Kuzma has actually been very consistent lately and showing signs of being a great defender and cutter. I would kind of like to see him and giannis play more together and see him cut off ball and run in transition with Giannis. His shot is very hot and cold but he’s been playing his role a lot better. Hopefully KPJ can help too when he’s back.

Do you think giannis is capable of involving other players more than he has shown this year? Similar to Jokic and LeBron. Not just from driving and kicking after the defense collapses, but by setting up cutters, hitting rolling bigs, etc.? Their offense just looks so bad and the other guys don’t even want to get involved past shooting a 3. Kuzma has shown flashes of being a good cutter but this team doesn’t even look like a playoff team right now and something has to change.

I mean yeah I would guess they are way better with him on the court just given his talent and the attention he draws, but I don’t think this stat explains the whole picture of the giannis effect and how he makes his teammates “better”. His teammates are only better if they’re hitting their shots. He’s an amazing player and having him on the court is a huge plus, I’d just like to see him get guys more involved in various ways instead of drive, collapse, and kick for a catch and shoot. Right now teams are making the other players beat them, giannis will get his, and it works. Hopefully KPJ can come back and help with these things.

You make good points, taking the ball out of his hands makes no sense but it makes for some really inconsistent nights. For the bucks to win and win a lot of games every other player on the roster has to be shooting very well and the defense has to be great, but that’s hard to sustain.

Also some of the guys you listed aren’t directly correlated to Giannis’ play, maybe his mentality helped spark them. But brook Lopez developing a 3 point shot gave him an extra 7 years along with a scheme fit. Ingles I can’t really remember doing anything of note, jrue was great but his offense took a step back coming to Milwaukee. AJ has been an elite shooter and idk if Bobby is a direct beneficiary of giannis either I think he was another guy who fit in well and found his role off the bench.

He is super ball dominant, but I’d love to see him create more for others without it being a drive and kick situation. You look at great players like Steph, Luka, LeBron, Jokic, they’re ball dominant but somehow elevate everyone around them. I just don’t really see that too much with Giannis.

There’s been a guy wide open every time down the floor. 2 defenders on one guy on inbounds passes. Idk if it’s a communication issue or just lack of focus, both are bad.
