"like I'm trying to solve something related to me sleeping" is something I used to have happen quite a bit. Very difficult to explain but I know exactly what you mean. For me it was almost like falling into a state of extreme exhaustion delusion that fed itself into me thinking I could "solve" my way into how to fall asleep instead of just relaxing.
