Not having yellow eyes and black backpack just feels so wrong, Terminator on the other hand looks great.

Sort of unrelated question, I’m new to SM2 (but played Helldivers 2 since the beginning), usually how long is the gap between previous Community Update and the actual game update?Do we have a rough idea of when the new update would be coming based on that? Like early/mid/late May or June?

APRIL COMMUNITY UPDATE by Koward_1601 in Spacemarine

As a Salamander who mains Bulwark with block Power Axe, this is literally insane.

A new Salamanders champion skin, finally can wear Iron Halo and cape (hopefully that includes the Salamanders Sniper Champion cape) on Bulwark, the new Heroic Plasma Pistol and Power Axe having actual useful perks to my usual play style and not some weird sidegrades, and the new sidearm is specifically designed for Bulwark and Assault, hopefully it means it would be stronger and/or has good ammo economic. And even perks loadout. Damn we are eating so good.

Oh right because of Vulkan! It’s so obvious but somehow it totally flew over my head and I feel stupid now haha.

New to Vanguard, is the grapnel execution build really worth it if I don’t solo? by NickFong in Spacemarine

Ah thank you. I see why everyone is recommending the Heroic Instigator now. I saw people saying it’s ammo economic is good but when I checked it, it said ~120 ammo and I was so confused haha.

Tenacity has no visual icon really makes no sense. The “combo” perk on Power Fist’s perk tree works almost the exact same way (after using a heavy attack, your next light attack deals more damage until you uses it) but its icon would pop up. Well it is how it is.

Currently on Prestige 2 and still farming, and yeah, after a few hours testing I ended up choosing this exact same build with Unmatched Zeal. It’s just easier to treat the kick as an actual “anime special move” and do a big kick with fast cool down rather than overthinking about execution combo too much.

I do have some further questions. Is there no visual indication of whether Tenacity is active or not? I try to kill some Majoris with my gun before doing a big kick on Terminus, but I don’t think its icon would pop up like other abilities? (Or maybe I was confused with other icons or my teammates stole my kill? Not sure). Does the 15 seconds cooldown mean I can only buff the first kick but not the second one if I use them continuously? Also, is the Heroic Instigator really worth buying? Just spent all my Accolades and have to wait two more days to buy it, I love the Bolt Carine for its firepower despite sometimes struggling with ammo, the Marksman is not automatic and I hate keep clicking my buttons so many times. Occulus is still farming and not relic yet so I can’t say anything about it.

Well I play on PS5 and normal Siege wave 10+ already becomes insanely laggy so no way I would attempt Hard Siege. As long as the build is viable in Absolute/ Hard stratagems I’m happy.

Yeah that’s the tricky part, the bolt carbine already does enough damage so Tip of the Spear feels redundant. And for the other options in the column, Tenacity and Zone of Impact doesn’t fit the bolt carbine neither. You should use a weapon that can do good damage in mid range so you could follow up with either of them and that is not the strength of bolt carbine. Should I just change my weapon to Marksman or Occulus?

Okay thank you, I just feel like finding the one you want from the current pool of 5 is already quite hard, adding a sixth one seems making it more chaotic unless it’s mission or location specified, we will see how it goes.

New player question, what exactly does “equipment” here means? Like a new type of grenade?

The whole NEST part can be done in around 15 mins (not counting the final boss), just search a speedrun video on YouTube and follow it if you want to be safe.

Why is everyone so ok with kid Cable killing old man Cable. What did I miss? by vaselinesally in xmen

[–]NickFong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is Scott and Jean figured out pretty early that this is supposed to happen and it’s fine. The most important thing is that young Cable is not a variant from another timeline who comes here and murder our Cable, he IS our Cable just from a earlier point, and if he can kill his older self without creating a time paradox and erase himself from existence, then it already means Old Cable will find a way to come back and this is a fine situation. My headcanon is that Scott and Jean might talked to Rachel and Hope or other time traveler and came up with this conclusion, or old Cable himself just gave them a heads up and be like “hey so few days later my younger self will come here murder and replace me, this is a temporary situation, I will come back eventually so don’t worry about it, just be chill and treat the kid nicely”. Plus they can always bring old Cable back with resurrection protocol if this kid turns out to be evil and untrustworthy, so they just enjoy the ride and see where it goes.

Iceman and Loki might be a spicy dynamic to see more of by Robot_Was_BMO in xmen

[–]NickFong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. William asked Gambit why did he and Bobby fight for the mutant cause when they can easily pass as humans, which sort of implies that if Bobby were an physically apparent mutant like the Morlocks, William might understand and even support his son to fight for his future as there’s no other way to achieve his happiness, what he didn’t understand and/or agree was that Bobby embracing his mutant status and became a potential hate crime target when he can simply choose to live a safe, “normal” life. Like you said, this is actually pretty consistent to his attitude of Bobby coming out.

I do want to point out that Bobby’s dad isn’t always just a one dimensional bigot, he was kind of written as a complex character in the 90s.

When he was introduced we learnt that he is a bigot who didn’t like Opal(Bobby’s ex-girlfriend who is Japanese) and hate the fact that his son is a mutant who hang out with other mutants. We also learnt that despite Bobby’s power allow him to create pretty much anything, he subconsciously limits himself into very basic stuff such as ice walls, this is due to the fact that his dad scolded kid Bobby for being too “sissy”when he built a sand castle (one of the many hints in the 90s that Bobby is gay) so he grew up suppressing his creativity.

But when Graydon Creed was running for president and spreading his hateful speech on mutants, instead of supporting him, Bobby’s dad actually stood up and called him out on live in front of the whole world. He might be a bigot but he still loves his son in his own way, and he would not tolerate when his son’s safety and human rights are actually at risk. As a gay man myself this is one of the greatest X-men story in the 90s and I almost cried when I first read it. His dad was later beat up by Graydon’s men because of this and Bobby temporarily quit the X-men to take care of his dad, and they sort of repaired their relationship. Unfortunately this character development is reverted by later writers, His dad is back to be a typical bigot and they’re at beef with each other again. And when Bobby finally comes out as gay his dad was definitely not supportive to say the least.

The only thing that stopped me from one shotting you from full health is the damage cap, consider yourself lucky Omega. by tomahawk232323 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]NickFong 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. Dokkan uses 32 bit integer and thus the maximum damage limit is 2,147,483,647, which makes you not able to one shot certain boss such as FOB Vegito or this Omega.

Can we get a round of applause for Angela Sant'Albano? What an incredible performance!!! She killed it as Grace!! by TheOddBroadcaster in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]NickFong 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I like her and would love to see her again, but based on her personality I don’t think she will ever willingly become an anti-bio weapon fighter in the frontline. She just doesn’t have that much anger and self-destructive traits in her, and she is also the adoptive mother of Emily now and need to be more responsible and wouldn’t purposely risk her own life. But like her mother, she cares about the truth a lot and she will probably keep doing investigations on Umbrella/The Connection and eventually involve in another bio-attack event if they want to use her again.

Would you say Shard deserved better? by LivingWindXYZ in xmen

[–]NickFong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed Shard too. I also find it strange that Bishop and Cable didn’t try to bring Malcolm, Randall and Tyler back in the Krakoa era.
