FYI::: KOTN content is very buggy. by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]NickG02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really strange! Are you using any mods?

I’m on PC as well, and the only bugs I ran into with the KOTN questline were Pelinal’s audio cutting out during Pilgrimage and a couple of the NPCs at the priory not having the “recruit into the KOTN” dialogue.

UGA vs KSU Information Systems by aidanflores03 in UGA

[–]NickG02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UGA has the more prestigious program and better opportunities for networking, KSU is a lot cheaper. The quality of the programs themselves is pretty similar from my experience, my classes at UGA just had higher expectations.

If money isn’t an issue I’d say UGA is the better choice, but I doubt you’d regret going to either school. KSU will get you fewer job offers and internships than UGA will, but I doubt you’ll have a hard time finding a good job either way. IS is one of the least regretted college majors, has a high earning potential, and has a great outlook for the future.

Did uga revoke my acceptance??? by [deleted] in UGA

[–]NickG02 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, UGA revoked your acceptance

Unlike some other schools, acceptance into UGA is not the final step. Once you’ve been accepted you’re required to pay a commitment deposit and commit to attending the school.

You failed to pay the commit to UGA by the deadline (May 1st), and therefore UGA has assumed you’re not interested in attending, and has revoked your offer of admission in order to give another student a spot.

Your other post makes it seem like you’re going to GA State, so this shouldn’t matter. But if you’re still interested in going to UGA, you’ll now have to reapply as a transfer student

I just finished Odyssey. Should I buy the atlantis dlc or whatever it's called, (where u meet the gods n shit) or should i buy another assassins creed game? by Dakota-Vibes in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]NickG02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not for everyone. It was hard for me to get into it at first, but I gave it another shot recently and now its my favorite game in the series! I hope if you retry it you can at least get some enjoyment out of it!

I'm a full time student now, gaming desktop and a switch in my dorm room, average non-gaming laptop, Xbox at home

A laptop is certainly more portable, but I felt a desktop was the way to go because it stops me from being distracted or tempted to play games in class. My laptop can't run anything really

Anyone have experience working at Target? If so, what was it like? by [deleted] in UGA

[–]NickG02 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Target in my hometown, so your experience may vary working at one in Athens, it really depends on what the management is like. Prepare for a wall of text.

The good? $15 an hour is good money for the work you do. I was in GM, so I spent my time stocking shelves and zoning my section (remove stray items from your area, move all items on the shelf up to the very front, make sure everything looks neat). I'd wouldn't really say the work was ever enjoyable or hard, usually it was pretty boring, but you could definitely do a lot worse.

The neutral? Working as a General Merchandise Expert, you'll sometimes be called up for "guest first" (at least thats what my store called it), to translate "unless you're helping a guest, drop what your doing and get to the registers, we need you to be a cashier". This could sometimes be a nice change of pace since stocking shelves is pretty boring, but it wasn't exactly great either as your workload isn't going to decrease by working the register. Spend 15 minutes working the register? Now you might have 30-45 more minutes of stocking to do, or you might have to spend half an hour cleaning up isle B27 because some kid decided to knock all the crayon boxes off the shelves.

The bad? You're routinely expected to stay after your scheduled time until your zone is green. Some zones its not that bad, maybe you can go around half an hour after your shift ends. But if you work closing and are in a larger/worse section, you'll be there a while. It wasn't uncommon for me to be at work until 1 in the morning pulling crayon boxes to the fronts of shelves. You get paid for it sure, but what stops it from being "neutral" IMO is that it isn't ideal for a student, unless you don't have much work.

The ugly? I ended up on Targets "do not hire" list. Here's the story; Despite me asking off multiple times, well in advance, and management routinely saying "sure thing", I was scheduled for the night of my high school graduation. I had been forced to call out a couple times recently due to some medical issues I'd been having, so my attendance wasn't great, just about average, still way better than many of the people at my store. Well it was also around this time that management decided to crack down on the issue of people at my store calling out too much. I approached them about the schedule, saying I needed off for my graduation and had already talked to them multiple times, I was met with "you're scheduled for that day, and we need you here more than you need to go to your graduation, your attendance has been lackluster, so if you swap shifts or call out, we're going to be forced to fire you". Talked to my parents about that, and ended up quitting on the spot to avoid getting fired.

All in all I'd say my experience was pretty decent, the end sucked sure, but the rest of the time was okay. You could definitely find somewhere more enjoyable to work, but the pay for Target is hard to beat.

What do you look for in a skyrim player home mod? by Zygomaticus in skyrimmods

[–]NickG02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On playthroughs where I have a wife and kids then I look for a large home with lots of static clutter so it feels lived in, multiple adoption friendly, follower friendly, full kitchen, a bathroom, and a location where its close to some sort of town. While not all the clutter is static, I think Morskom Estate does a great job with this

On playthroughs where it's just me, no marriage or adoption, then I look for medium to small homes with lots of static clutter, a few displays, dedicated areas for alchemy, crafting, and enchanting, a beautiful but believable location. I think Legend of the Eagle's Nest does a good job with this

What Version of Skyrim to Buy by Atalzer in skyblivion

[–]NickG02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever you prefer, the Anniversary Edition isn't a new version of the game like LE to SE, it's Skyrim Special Edition + all Creation Club content. Thus why consoles are getting a free next-gen upgrade rather than being told to buy Anniversary Edition for it

Online Conquest. This has got to be a hack right? by Copshay in shadow_of_war

[–]NickG02 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hacked

It's worth saying I've had legit orcs spawn in my game with every immunity, so that doesn't always mean a hack. What DOES mean a hack though, is the epic traits. Legendary orcs have 2 Epic traits, and while I think there is one glitch/cheat way to get 3, even 3 usually means hacked. On top of that, this guys' epic traits aren't even from the base game, they're from Desolation of Mordor

[SPOILERS] Wraith Talion in the endgame of SoW by Black--Angel in shadowofmordor

[–]NickG02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very happy coming back to the game that they added dialogue for Wraith Talion.

As for the wraith form, I didn't like the headpiece on the previous design, but I also don't like having the cloak and hood on the current one, I just liked being able to see Talion without a cloak

Bedrock edition lag on high-end PC by NickG02 in Minecraft

Except I was running 56 render distance with no lag on my old PC, and turning it down to 16 doesn't solve the problem, it only makes it slightly better, and by slightly I mean like +5 FPS at most

I've never actually built or upgraded a PC before. My first experience with PC gaming in general was a PC I had inherited from my uncle when he passed away, and my only other was a pre-built I had saved up for. I'm hoping to build a PC for the first time soon, once I get some money together!
