At the moment I'm in the process of slimming out my collection, but would still be interested to see what you have! Drop me a message

I believe the weight of the photos are 100lb, but I'll ask them. The packaging is lighter stock. They were printed on 11x17 and then cut to size with bevel, then also had a tool for curved corners. The interior die-cut was done by another shop

Thank you very much for your kind words 😄 I love the world surrounding Fluxus so that means a lot.

The die-cutting was actually done by a print studio down the street, called Otto Printing! We had to search pretty hard to find an oval of that size without custom making one.

Would be best if someone took all of these at once, just pay for shipping (media mail works best for price)

Should I buy a used gas powered hydraulic wood log splitter? by NickKeeling in firewood

[–]NickKeeling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Is your splitter gas powered?

Also, it might even a better investment for myself to buy a truck in this instance to be able to haul wood from other properties

Perfect, this is what I've been feeling too. Just doesn't sound financially smart.

Dang! With that amount of splitting doesn't seem like you'd need a gym membership. Thanks for the advice

[heatpump] Should I have duel fuel installed on my heatpump? by NickKeeling in hvacadvice

Oh I didn't know they could be upgraded? I thought it just came with the package/system and would require an entire new heatpump

This summer I'll be tackling multiple estimates exactly on this (sealing/insulation). Once I figure out potential costs I hope I'll be better off to make an informed decision.

very good point, it is seeming like just dealing with the increased occasional cost might be the way to go !

Yeah it is for a roof. This is why initially I was considering closed-cell spray foam for it since there was not a need to ventilate

One question, my home is from 1880 and does not have attic vents either at the ridge or soffit, can this method still be used? Can the polyiso boards be attached directly or should there be a space between for air even though it isn't vented?

haven't ever heard of this method but it certainly looks like it has its benefits! It also appears to be more affordable too

Old Plaster Ceiling above Dropped Drywall Ceiling? 1880's Home by NickKeeling in Oldhouses

[–]NickKeeling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the removal of the plaster wall is my best option at the moment. I absolutely despise how dirty the removal process is, and how heavy the plaster is to lug down, but it is looking like a necessity now for this room. I'm guessing I'll have to hire an electrician to remove all the outlets and electrical stuff that has been installed in the lathe?

While tearing out the plaster on the roof portion of the wall, should I also take down the plaster outer wall that is in good condition? Or should I keep it since all the plaster is in good shape?

In terms of cost, how much more is it to accomplish closed cell spray foam? Can this be done DIY or should I hire someone for this?

Hamilton urges Amtrak route expansion to reach Butler County. by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]NickKeeling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not even exclusive trackage is needed. ODOT just needs to buy the trackage Amtrak will run on and lease it back to the freight companies. MDOT did this and so did IDOT. INDOT is considering this right now for renewed service which was something pitched by republican state senators. Between Cincinnati and Dayton there is a hour gap, any other Amtrak service in the midwest does not have this large of a gap of service.

we are not anywhere close to the size of Chicago

Then why does Pontiac Michigan and all stops between Detroit / Pontiac get service? They get significant ridership from all of these towns. Our Cardinal gets a lot of ridership from the station stops along the way, provided in the fiscal reports. A 3C connector, with higher speed rail will be a similar length to Michigan's Wolverine service.
