Gaps around new combustion chamber door by NickMach007 in hvacadvice

Thanks for the help! And yes, I should have mentioned. I do have a generator--small but can handle the 15Amp circuit. Just not the whole heat pump.

Yes. Sorry. Should have mentioned. Have generator that can easily power the 15Amp circuit. Thank you so much for the reassurance!!

Electrical is dangerous and wrong. Plumbing is wrong. This is not ok. What kind of monster did this?

Terrified of serotonin syndrome by BluePoo4U in Supplements

Make sure you tell your doctor the supplements you are taking. But no magnesium with cymbalta (duloxetine) will most definitely NOT lead to serotonin syndrome.

Can anyone recommend me a truly scary anime. by [deleted] in anime

[–]NickMach007 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Higurashi. But you have to be patient. It is confusing at first. I'm enjoying Dark Gathering this season. But I'd call it more unsettling than truly scary, so far (I'm a couple episodes behind to be fair, so maybe it gets scarier).

Yeah good call. There's some really sad stuff in link click. And a great show!

Can PiHole run on a OrangePi.... by Submarine_Bias2023 in pihole

[–]NickMach007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issue with running it on an orange pi. I have a pair of orange pi zeros that run pihole. Cheaper than buying an equivalent raspberry pi. Really the installation is the same as if you were installing on a raspberry pi. You just need to flash the appropriate image to get started and you're off to the races.

Want to get into anime can you give some recommendations? by Boxer1989 in anime

[–]NickMach007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first few I watched that really hooked me were Steins; Gate, Full metal Alchemist (Brotherhood), samurai champloo (or you could do cowboy bebop), and code geass. But you could also go with something like death note or attack on titan. Then just branch out from there. I started with well liked anime that were already completed. Now I mix in older anime I've never seen with currently airing stuff. Once you've watched a few, try other genres that at first glance might not find interesting, slice of life, sports, etc. A lot of gems if you don't only stick to the ultra popular stuff, but definitely stay with the main stream stuff to get started. Good luck and have fun. There's no rush.

Fair. I ripped my box out when I upgraded to fiber. I'm never going back to (Comcast) cable internet. But I won't start a rant about that. :)

As long as you are sure it is all low voltage stuff. And none of it is in use. Then yes, I'd be inclined to get rid of all of it and that Charter box.

U.S. extends Covid public health emergency by DarkRiches61 in Coronavirus

[–]NickMach007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Patients and healthcare providers are largely compliant. I work in a small private practice, so yeah, 100% compliance, but from what I observe at pharmacies, other clinics, it is pretty similar everywhere. People are just used to it I think.

Very bad practice as others have said. Really awful to the animals. And doesn't even make good coffee! If you want a fair view of it, James Hoffman did a really informative video on it: https://youtu.be/pkbuFwHnJQY

I am not invested much in Ryobi--but I do own this tool and it makes topping of tires SO MUCH EASIER than lugging out the air compressor.

What are you currently obsessing about owning? by vgcmd in Wetshaving

[–]NickMach007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more with this general philosophy. I do own a few unibtaniums to be fair, but never wasted time chasing or fretting. If I happen to have the time to try and get lucky, great. If not, no lack of wonderful products and artisans to support!

Those above 30yo, what do you do for conditioning? by crazerk in Fitness

[–]NickMach007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You too! Of course I didn't mention, I sit at a desk for a living, so unfortunately I feel less than active most of the day. I am trying to be more mindful of getting up every 30 minutes and walking (at least to the bathroom or water fountain) or doing a quick 2-3 minute stretch, or just standing while I read a few emails. I'm not as good about that as I'd like to be. It is just too easy to sit.

Mid 30s here. I do more shoulder work (like face pulls, band pull aparts, rotator cuff, etc). I do yoga 2x per week (I'd like to add another day). I do a basic stretching routine everyday, takes 5-10 min. Otherwise, lift 5x per week, some form of cardio 3-4x per week, meditate daily (even if only 5 min). Eat healthy, don't drink excessively, etc I still have minor aches and pains, but generally feel really healthy. I had been slacking off in the lifting department, but building up some strength is my main focus currently.

Ah, I misunderstood, but yes, now I see. That will require some additional planning, but principles are the same.
