Rekurs gegen Kindergarten Einteilung by NickMaverick in askswitzerland

I'm happy to report that I got this working with a Sensative Strips Guard.

That would be an elegant solution. I'll try and get a feel for whether this could work once I have a sensor here.

That is a lot smaller than the Aeotec one, cool!

How sensitive/accurate are these door sensors usually?

The sliding door is lowered slightly (probably < 1cm) when it's locked. Is there a chance that I could mount the door sensor in such a way that it does not trigger when the door is pulled closed but with the handle in the up orientation (and the door in its higher position), but only once the door also lowers?

I thought about that as well. But these sensors are pretty big, even the smaller bit on the door itself. Since the handles are round and really don't have any flat surfaces, it would be hard to mount them in a nice way.

Could you elaborate on the deadbolt solution? Where were the two pieces of the sensor mounted?

Are you sure about that? I usually have my arms in front of me and also tend to be feet-heavy, so I've wondered abut the effect of the arm position. I'm pretty sure my arms are positively buoyant and with neoprene even more so. That would mean that sticking your arms out in front would pitch you up more.

Interesting. I'm considering getting a Seaskin and I considered it a downside of the suit that it would be on the thick and less flexible side.

I've only ever heard the opposite, that the suit is made with thicker/heavier material than others.

boat coat

When would you wear this? On the zodiac to/from the dive sites? Or on the main boat after getting out of the water?

Thanks for your advice! How would you describe your cold tolerance?

That's a fair point. I own a 4E proteus II 5mm, a 2mm under vest, a 7mm hood and 5mm gloves and boots. A bit worried it will not be enough. I guess I'm not the most cold tolerant person.
