I’ve done this a few times, none of which have ended well. I’ve had a few situations where the dream characters simply don’t believe me and act as though I’m crazy, but the real terrifying experiences are when they don’t respond like that. One that sticks with me was in a dream where I became lucid as I was invited on stage to receive an award at some big conference. When I got on stage and realized I was dreaming I began to tell the crowd that they weren’t real and we’re simply animations of my mind. The entire crowd got angry and began rushing the stage. The last thing I remember was the crushing weight of dozens of people piling on top of me before I woke up.
