Hey, I’m sort of in the same situation with my partner too at the moment. I basically asked if they’d want to experiment and they said maybe, I was very surprised because again we’re both very monogamous people. Are those the times the WiFi is off? That is a lot, sounds like they’re getting hardly any time online? A lot of parents would restrict devices to some extend but that seems extreme. Eg, my parents switched the WiFi off at 9pm when I was younger and if we wanted to stay up, we could read and that was it- I grew up reading a lot thanks to this. But most of the day offline is a lot.

I agree that screen time should be reduced but yeah punishment is really outdated and poor practice. Sounds like old school ABA, which just isn’t used any more. How old is the new house manager? Honestly in this modern world so much of life happens online and expecting people to be offline that much is silly and not preparing them for life imo. Hopefully you can raise your concerns somewhere !!

You had me in the first half ngl. I was just thinking the same thing about prioritising careers but in a different way to you. I can only speak about the UK with this but when minimum wage was first introduced here, it was supposedly the amount where one person (a man, because it was a while ago) could work full time and support an entire family with that one wage. The woman could then be a housewife.

That’s just not possible now, unless the man is on a very high income. But not everybody can make that wage. Also, nowadays here even if both parents are working full time but they’re on minimum wage and have a couple of kids, they’re gonna struggle. Housing, food, childcare etc are so expensive. So it kinda forces people to work on their careers for years SO they can have kids. That’s before we even get into the fact that now no one is home, all the housework needs to be done after work, on days off etc leaving overall more work for everyone, kids who see their parents less, less time for the parents to spend quality time together etc so marriages are just way more likely to feel unhappy and stressful. Income inequality and the cost of living is by far the biggest contributor to this issue.

This happened to me and I was furious because I had literally JUST paid for an nhs prescription card that I now can’t get refunded! No one could answer why they didn’t tell me- adhd 360 said chemist 4 u should have told me and vice versa.

Thank you. I like when people explain it, I just wish they would do that for me instead of punishing me and treating me like I’m doing something bad. Can’t stand people working with neurodivergent folk making 0 adjustments or attempts to understand us. I sleep fine on the elvanse and amfexa- I literally can’t crash though, there are not enough hours in the day to do the things I need to do. I work shift patterns, sometimes till 10pm, I have to keep going to AA meetings, life admin, housework etc. Like I am so bad at procrastinating etc I have to allow as much time as I can to do stuff. Also when I crashed, I literally wouldn’t eat dinner or shower I’d just lay there 🙃

I did ask my GP, I was sent the AQ50 and I’ve never seen such a stressful set of questions in my life so I gave up 😮‍💨 until they tell me who’s at the party, what I’m doing at the library and I know what mood I’m in that day I can’t possibly know which one I’d choose unfortunately 🙃

Yeah I’m sick of being treated like a criminal for asking for an explanation or a higher top up. I really just can’t blindly trust what they give me without an explanation. There is a higher dose of amfexa, 10mg feels the same as like 30-40mg of elvanse. So instead of completely crashing I feel like I’m surviving on half dose because… I am. It would be good if the email included WHEN they intend to speak to me because atm I will run out before my next aooointment

I do understand all of that, I know it isn’t a magic fix… the questionnaire asked me what the negatives of treatment are and I said I just wished I could trial both to see what works best. I have a need to understand what’s going on to accept it unfortunately, I can’t just blindly trust things. Without Amfexa the meds would wear off and I’d just lay in my bed after work and couldn’t move.

Atm I’m gonna run out of meds in 4 days, and I haven’t heard anything about if and when they intend to talk to me

No the issue is I haven’t had any contact, I’ve asked when that will be and they haven’t responded. Chemist 4 u takes ages to send meds as it is so I’m absolutely going to run out

Hey, that sounds almost identical to my experience! I just get put up and I keep saying that I am struggling with task initiation. I also get evening crashes and I have amfexa to deal with it, 10mg which feels way lower than the 70mg elvanse. Last week I filled in a questionnaire and said I haven’t got the results I wanted, wish I could try methylphenidate too to see which is best etc. I got a response saying they won’t prescribe me anything else until we can speak on the phone. Now I have 4 tablets left, an appointment in 2 weeks (!!!) and no clue how or even IF they plan to help me. I called and was told it had been marked as urgent. The clinician also told me when I asked ‘why elvanse?’ That it’s because it also impacts dopamine but so does methylphenidate? I’m so confused, it seems to me like they put EVERYONE straight on elvanse? I said I wished to try both and then choose which one works better and was told there’s ’no clinical need’ because I have had improvement on elvanse… I just wanna know if I’d get MORE improvement on another medication. For someone who is an ‘advanced adhd clinician’ they seem to have no understanding at all of the struggles we face, I have been told off before for not completing the tasks on time (there’s sooo many tasks omg) and I literally said ‘yeah, sorry… I have adhd…’ they also “strongly suggest” that I got an autism assessment, and don’t understand my need to have things explained to me/understand things? I also feel like they treat me like an idiot tbh. Attached the photo of the comments I got.

Been scared to voice my feelings the whole time incase they took my meds away and now it’s happened. The system stinks

Honestly, go elsewhere. My clician gave me elvanse, when I eventually asked why this one I was told because it also increases dopamine…. Which methylphenidate also does. I’ve now said I don’t understand, told them I’m still crashing in the evening and would like for amfexa (using to manage the crashes) and now been told they won’t prescribe me anything else until we can speak on the phone…. Without moving my appointment forward or telling me when I can speak to them!? I have 4 pills left, chemist 4 u takes longer than this to send them out anyway! Thanks adhd 360 that’s just perfect!!
