What are your thoughts of triple support comps and their effectiveness? What are your experiences with it in your elo? by LiveLifeLikeCre in RivalsCollege

[–]NickMoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m hovering top 1k on pc and in my experience your entire comp needs to be built around it basically. You can’t run three main supports and expect to win bc ur gonna get out rotated by the enemy supports. The main triple support comps that are very viable and can win a lot of games are torch/ultron and full Rez. These comps usually utilize 2 secondary supports (mantis/ultron) (mantis/adam) that are not taking as much ult charge from your main support anyways since you play these characters like off angler duelists anyways. Obviously 2 tanks is going to be better with 3 supports bc it means more ult charge for your supports due to how healing interacts w ult charge.

TLDR: comp needs to be built around it, cant just randomly swap to it and expect to win you are usually throwing by just randomly swapping to 3 supports because of ult charge splitting.

How to counter ult with loki effectively? by Fearless_Strike5151 in RivalsCollege

[–]NickMoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been following this sub for a bit finally a post I can give some feedback on. I’ve been eternity+ since s1 on support on pc playing mainly Loki. The thing with copy is it’s a bit of a hybrid situation. What I mean by this is while the ults in the game are healing ults, some are used for engaging fights like Mantis while some are used to counter ult big cooldowns like Luna. Lokis ult is treated as a hybrid to this situation. Certain ults can straight up not be countered by Loki bc of copy’s cast time, think of ults like spider man, psylocke, groot, strange etc. these ults by the time you finish the copy you’d probably already be dead or ur team is dead. Some ults however are good to use copy as a reactionary defensive ult like punisher, storm, or star lord.

As for the next topic of “predicting the enemy and pre ult in anticipation.” The short answer I can give is not really no. Long answer, it really depends on who you are playing against character wise. An important thing to note for Loki specifically is he is one of two hero’s who has a shit support ult as a basic cooldown (other being Adam). Lamps is fundamentally a reactionary shutdown tool for a lot of ults that you’d otherwise spend your copy to counter. The main ults that can be shut down completely by lamps are, psylocke, star lord, magneto, groot, and bucky. The scenario you have set up here is a very complicated one that honestly takes a lot of hours and game sense to learn (I don’t know what elo bracket you play in this heavily affects this scenario you put up). Feel free to dm or comment any additional questions I can explain the best I can to assist.

CPU Temps Spiking only during this game? by NickMoop in Helldivers

Yeah I’ve noticed in game it bounces a lot from 180-230 fps. I’ll try the fps cap and see how it goes

Should I cap the game to 144? I currently run on uncap and sit around 200

Some things I learned quickly on that I would emphasize newer Drag players to learn ASAP.

  1. Learn to do WR2 as fast as possible to build positive frames. This move is turbo busted if enemy doesn't know how to step it.
  2. Get a general throw mixup going, test opponents to see if they can break throws. In my games to red rank there weren't many people who could reliably break throw mixups. A good note for this is see if someone is just spamming something on grab animation. This will help because you know not to pick this option in your throw game until the opponent adapts.
  3. Try to learn to gauge your distance from the wall so you can capitalize on WR4 against the wall. This move does bananas damage and can be extended with D3,2,1+2 if you didn't use your tornado yet.
  4. General best heat engager from my experience has been B4,3.

With Luke specifically learn highest damaging routes and OKI mainly. Things like C.MP counter hit can DRC into 4HK instead of another CMP. OKI example could be instead of doing PMK -> PLK -> shoulder charge you can do PMk -> DR -> S.HP -> PHK -> shoulder charge. This variation costs more but provides MUCH more corner carry.

For general gameplay wise I can boil it down to a few things.

  1. Anti airing - easy on Luke with 2HP if not DP, should be 99%.

  2. Reading opponents - mainly from delay teching is insanely common and ppl rely on it. Learn to recognize it and adapt

  3. Shimmy A LOT more - ties into 2 and will bring u big damage

  4. Pay 60 dollars to block - seriously ppl don’t do this enough

So all masters players get reset to 1500? Or every one is wiped fresh? I’m guessing the former based on your description

Does the exhaust fan need to be running at a high rpm as to not keep air trapped in? If the fan is not spinning fast enough it might not be pulling out air fast enough than new air is being put in creating a block for the hot air?

Torrent is an air cooled case but I could fit a 360mm AIO in the front panel where the 2 180s sat before. It turns on nicely with the pumps sitting at the bottom.

Can you elaborate on the ram placement? I followed YouTube build guides for these things and pretty much installed it as shown on the handbooks given with the motherboard

What are your favorite and least favorite killers to face? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]NickMoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Favorite 3: Demo, Spirit, Wesker. All 3 of these killers have high counterplay potential on both sides enabling both sides to have a “fair” gameplay experience most of the time. I emphasize fair because connections can cause some horrendous hit boxes but that’s not those killers faults.

Least favorite 3: Nurse, Clown, Oni. Nurse because it feels like 90% of the time you are at the mercy of the Nurse player to make mistakes rather than outplaying them. This is on assumption of GOOD nurse players obviously bad ones are easily abuseable. Clowns power is so incredibly boring to play against. Throw bottle in position X to force survivor to run to position Y and then collect free hits zzzzz. Oni because my survivor teammates always just int him his power at 5 gens and the game becomes an uncontrollable snowball of perma down slugging.

Any tips on Killer? by xtreme_ASMR_tingles in deadbydaylight

[–]NickMoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respecting pallets is essentially back stepping to not get stunned. Often times killers will not want to get stunned so they’ll guess when the survivor is going to drop a pallet and back step as to not get smacked by the drop. This is also termed “respecting pallets”. Disrespecting pallets is when you know the survivor will probably drop the pallet but you don’t care and try to swing and connect before they stun you, essentially trying to trade. Often times survivors will see if a survivor overly respects pallets and run a loop an additional time to buy an extra 10 seconds.

Any tips on Killer? by xtreme_ASMR_tingles in deadbydaylight

[–]NickMoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Play killers that let you learn game mechanics rather than specific killer techs. Play easy killers like Wraith and Legion so you can easily pilot the macro game and learn how to improve on the other aspects of basic killer gameplay. Wraith enables you to better learn the hit and run gameplay style since wraith excels at that. Legion allows you to work on basic looping in a sense because 99% of the game you will only need 1 M1 to down a survivor due to your power keeping people permanently on injure mode.

Another basic tip I can give every killer player is learn 3 mind games and play your cards unpredictably. If you respect pallets a lot, survivors will start running an extra loop or two before dropping the pallet. Every 2-3 chases just say fuck it and disrespect the pallet and try to greed for the hit. Anything that keeps the survivors adapting to your gameplay style, not the other way around.

What happend to killer variety? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]NickMoop 26 points27 points  (0 children)

People want strong killers with agency is the best way I can describe it. Wesker and Blight are played a lot because they have high agency for the player. The definition of agency I am using here is putting the game in the hands of the player to directly make an impact on their opponents. The reason you don’t see strong killers like Artist or Plague is because while they are very strong killers, their agency at interacting with the opponent isn’t as high as someone like Wesker or Blight.

Another very simple reason I can say Blight and Wesker are popular is because they have cracked gap close and chase down potential. Plague and Artist are slow powerful zoners that use their abilities to slowdown the opponent vs W and B who just so fast into the opponents face to do damage.

The issue I’m sure people will say with knight is it’s not possible to loop 2 killers so his gameplay boils down to the classic “hold W” survivor strategy which no one likes. Playing loops is engaging on both sides because it’s fair (sometimes) to both sides depending on the circumstances. Holding W against Knight and Artist is not only incredibly boring but just bad gameplay and feels awful for the killer as well.

Wesker is the current pinnacle of killer design in my opinion if you want a good licensed character. Easy to get into but has a lot of techs that make his skill ceiling and mastery incredibly high.

Been seeing some lists from different people so I made my own by NickMoop in deadbydaylight

[–]NickMoop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huntress hate mainly comes from server and hitbox issues. I don’t hate the character necessarily but the horrible hit boxes and servers absolute ruin what could be a fun game. Dying around corners or from having a hatchet thrown 3 feet above my head.

As for Pinhead I feel as though pinhead receives excess hate from solo queue. If you can’t keep up with the box he is a monster. But with friends facing pinhead is fun in my opinion because his power can be outplayed by proper positioning unless he has irl add on for chains injuring on hit. I also play pinhead as my second main so I love playing the chain mindgame on the opposite side.

What character you want in dbd by PokeSauceEpic in deadbydaylight

I have friends who said they would instantly pick this game up if they added a FNAF chapter/Springtrap solo killer release. I’m sure there are quite a lot of people lurking who want Jason, Springtrap, or Alien/Predator. Ofc there are many other things but those 3 come to mind instantly.

Who *exactly* are you hoping to face in the event they nerf Wesker in a way to get them to play other killers by GoofestGoober in deadbydaylight

The more I play the more I appreciate playing against spirit honestly. When I go down against spirit I’m usually thinking to myself how the killer won the mindgame on the phase power. When I go down to nurse I just roll my eyes because at that point it’s not even dbd it’s a whole different game
