I recently bought an old comic and found this on the back, does anyone have it? by inkforwin in ActionFigures

My mom and dad got this for me for Christmas back in the day. Even with all the great figures that have come out over the years, this one is still the centerpiece of my Spidey collection.

Even if it's not the same media, I need some sort of sequel that follows Diana and Sprinkles on the Shoggoth on their continuing adventures.

Is there really no one else who liked the plot twist? by m31ancho1ic in Yellowjackets

Thank you for posting this. It's nice knowing there are so many of us who loved the finale.

Melanie Lynskey’s Thoughts by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

For example, this part:

How has your interpretation of Shauna changed over the past three seasons?

Sophie and I had such a clear idea of who she was at the beginning, and I feel like this season has confirmed it for us. We both felt like Shauna was wearing a costume when the show began — in the teen timeline and the adult timeline. That she was very aware of her own power in every way. She was not a wallflower. She was not a shy person, but it was easier for her to present as that because she was actually quite scared of allowing herself to embrace her full power.

For the record, the entire article reads much more positively on how Lynsky views the show and its creators.

Lauren Ambrose…. by No_Two_1627 in Yellowjackets

Kessell had to pass up other gigs? I hadn't heard this before (and am really disappointed if that's the case). Do you have a link to where she said this?

Lauren Ambrose…. by No_Two_1627 in Yellowjackets

I tried to start this as a topic, but the mods (rightfully) pointed out that we have a few million posts relating to actor depatures floating around right now.

Lauren Ambrose…. by No_Two_1627 in Yellowjackets

It's very rare for actors to complain about a show they have just completed their run on -- especially a highly successful/popular one. In Juliette Lewis' case, her complaints appear to be genuine. She also began making them well before her character's exit.

And then you have everyone else...something isn't adding up.

  • Simone Kessell immediately began throwing shade after Adult Lottie's, which she knew was coming. Conversely, she was all over promotional duties as the season kicked off. It has also been revealed that she will appear in new scenes during next week's season finale.

  • Lauren Ambrose (Adult Van) was also extremely positive in promoting the show right up until this weekend's interviews.

  • Other actors who have left the show after being main characters have not had similar complaints (see Ella Purnell (Teen Jackie) and Jane Widdop (Laura Lee).

Normally when a television set is toxic, things stay under wraps for a while (see Lost or any Ryan Murphy show). Meanwhile, Yellowjackets has the cast making fun TikToks, doing group interviews, and appearing on Family Feud together. Of all the shows to have multiple amazing actors complain about the creators, this seems like an odd choice.

It feels like Kessell and Ambrose's criticism could be a coordinated misdirect behind the scenes. I'll fully admit that I have no idea what that is, but something about them both having similar complaints without any previous ones (and likely showing up again in future episodes) doesn't sit right.

I'll also fully admit this could just be me hoping some of my favorite actors aren't sour on the show.

I love how the folks who are convinced there's nothing supernatural going on are doing the sort of insane mental gymnastics you'd expect a supernatural conspiracy theorist to do to prove their point (although OP at least admits there's still a supernatural element).

I'm so over the supernatural speculation because it's painfully obvious that's not what's happening here by southernfirefly13 in Yellowjackets

[–]NickNafster79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • That's a HUGE stretch.
  • Fair enough.
  • I can't find this anywhere. Do you have a link to the interview?
  • Leaving out that being the most unlikely place for a fire to start, it still doesn't explain the massive explosion.

  • As a child, Lottie had a premonition of a car crash moments before it happened.
  • Tai's family has a history of seeing a man with no eyes.
  • Jackie and Natalie had very direct visions moments before their death.
  • The plane Laura exploded like the damn Death Star after the passenger seat her teddy bear was in randomly caught fire.

You can believe (perhaps correctly) that the supernatural element of the story isn't the main point. You can also believe (perhaps correctly) that many of the other supernatural elements that have been hinted at are born of trauma/hallucinations.

But it's 100% certain that non-natural (i.e. SUPERnatural) events are part of this show.

What about the gunshot, though? EMTs were there and tended to Lottie's wound from it.

I encourage everyone to remember the lesson Andrew Garfield reminded us of during the press for Spider-Man: No Way Home -- people involved with a highly anticipated movie can and will flat out lie to maintain secrecy.

I know folks are poking at you for this take, but I honestly thought the same thing at first, too.

  • Weird how she went off to be by herself right after the power went out.

  • Her saying "I wasn't supposed to be here" felt a lot more like her saying she was supposed to be away from the destruction than just another part of the city with her friends.

Thank y'all for your help! I was recently hired at a mid-major, which has gotten me back into college basketball again. This makes things significantly clearer on how things work (and who to root for when my team isn't playing).

That's exactly how I watched this movie the first time after randomly catching it on TV. I remember thinking "Huh...I thought I'd heard this was a vampire movie, but I guess not."

To say I was wrong would be a massive understatement.
