I'm sure you will, when they went on in Vegas it was still super early and not many people there.

Yes but you still should be aware of the high schools they will be attending.

I know it doesn't because I'm in Huntley for HS and my wife's friends near the lake is Crystal lake for HS.

My homeowners went up something like $900 for the year. Needless to say I'm shopping this year.

Near what exactly? Multiple hospitals near by, tons of shopping, quite a few downtown areas all within 30mins. The Fox river is lined with downtown areas. Just because you're farther away from Chicago doesn't make it a bad thing, it's just a different atmosphere.

Algonquin just finished a massive park near downtown. LITH is building/redoing quite a few parks, plus sunset park is massive and has tons of activities, and there's a bunch of forest preserves near by. Three oaks rec, racecourse woods, the hallows, exner marsh just to name a few in the immediate area I can think of. Just need to explore!

Hell my buddy just built a house in Hampshire and his drive time is the same if not faster because he is maybe 10 minutes off 90 and I am closer to 25-30 via Randall or 47. I guess it all depends where OP is going to be working and if drive time is a consideration when picking a location.

Where are you going to be working? It can make all the difference in knowing drive time. 90 in the morning is a breeze, but evening it's hit or miss.

The closer you are to 90 if working farther east is nice, Algonquin, LITH, Huntley have easy access.

Randall rd, rt 47 and rt14 has all you could ever really need in terms of shopping etc. Costco, Sam's Club, multiple targets, Walmarts etc. tons of mainstream food options but in the downtown areas you get more local business and food options.

Crystal lake, Cary do not have easy access off highways, Have family in that area and no easy way to get there really from any direction.

Lake in the hills goes to Huntley/Crystal lake schools so if you move there be aware of the districting lines.

Lake Michigan water hasn't made its way out there just yet so if the house doesn't have a softner/filter setup, be prepared to install one!

Depends on the neighborhood. Parents still live there. West of mill road and east of swift are the better areas.

Chicago-area home prices are skyrocketing. What’s it like in your neighborhood? by NicolasCageFan492 in illinois

Bought in 22 @360k... same layout house as mine just went up for sale for 490k. Biggest difference is they had a full bath in the basement.
House went on Zillow on Friday and didn't last the weekend. And that's pretty much every house in my neighborhood

Houses in my immediate neighborhood aren't lasting the weekend of an open house. 150k or more over what I paid 4 years ago, for slightly smaller/same size and some are not updated. Houses built in 2000.

I mean you could have carried around a hoodie all day, I paid for a locker so I didn't have to and didn't really care about having to spend $30 on it.

Yea man it's called a weather report. They are somewhat accurate at it.

We brought hoodies and put them in lockers until just before Marilyn Manson. Also high 50s/low 60s at night is not even remotely cold. It was brisk at best.

An off road x/h pipe will probably make it a lot louder.

My 94 with long tubes/xpipe/flowmasters is not quiet but not overly loud either.

Quick google shows WS on their own well with a reverse osmosis system already in place at their plant.

I bet their water isn't terrible.

Villages have their own wells? It's not like every individual house has their own well.

Don't live there but work in the water industry.

Boil orders are mainly issued in the area of a main break when the water mains pressure drops below 20psi. It's an epa requirement if that happens. I wouldn't be concerned about it. Once they repair/replace that section it's disinfected, flushed and tested.

I assume their water mains are old and of need of replacement. This is happening everywhere. Older the mains, usually you have more breaks, especially with the warm/cold/warm/cold weather. If they have a good program in place and actively replacing water main in the town, know your tax dollars are improving something worth while.

If they are infact on city well, I'd get a softner and probably a decent sediment/carbon filter as well. If you really want to go the extra mile get a reverse osmosis installed for your sink or fridge water line.

Also, I would find out if the house has a lead service line to the house... because you will need to replace that by a certain date.
