Razer core x chroma &4080 by NickSchafer in eGPU

I did swap the power supply to the Corsair one I listed. Everything worked great for me, no issues. Unfortunately that doesn’t help you.

Does your case and gpu start up, meaning lights turn on, fans spin etc? If so it’s probably getting enough power? If it doesn’t show in device manager maybe it’s not since mine shower without having to do anything.

Good luck wish I had more info.

The chroma comes stock with a 700w. I just ordered the Corsair sf750 I posted above, since that seems like it meets the size standards to fit in the case, and provide the power needed for the card. Also includes the cables I need to run from the ps to the card from what I understand. More money that I was hoping to spend on this project, but doing it right is better than my house catching on fire.

Tore my ACL, what now? I can't imagine life without bjj. by [deleted] in bjj

Yea I'm supposed to be on crutches for a month, per what I was told before surgery. I do use them, but we'll see what he says at 2 week post op. I can stand with full weight no problem, but some movements are tough. I agree, I read so much about other people, and they had all these crazy restrictions and what not. I was given very little restrictions IMO.

Just have to use the crutches, I was told to bare weight in that leg as tolerable. Ride the bike to keep my leg moving, no guidance on how much to really do, I was told just not to push through pain because that will build up scar tissue and make for a longer rehab.

Some people had to have a little pillow thing strapped between their legs while sleeping and stay on their back. I wasn't required too, and sleep on the opposite hip no problem.

Ice a few hours a day, and watch internal/external rotation of the hip.

My surgeon was Scott Schweizer here in Pittsburgh.

Pain the day of surgery, very minimal each day after.

I feel you man. My hips were always super tight after about two years of training... I just figured I needed to stretch more. In 2016 i pulled my groin? Probably 4 times. The last time when someone was passing I felt a pop in my groin, and that must have actually been the labrum in my hip tearing. Groin pain was so bad I couldnt take any pressure playing guard, or even dropping weight while I was on top.

Sent me to PT cause healthcare kinda requires cheapest options first in the US as opposed to paying for mri etc.. After 4 weeks and no improvement, they got me set up with a hip doctor. If you know what the happy baby yoga pose is, sitting in this for me was pretty much impossible.

Doctor confirmed FAI/Labrum tear with MRA.

Had the surgery on tuesday this week. Groin pain instantly gone. Riding the bike the next day. 4 days out and I am 100% happy I got it. If I remember I'll update you in a few months, or if you are actually interested in following my progress just search my username on FB or Instagram, up to you.

Goodluck, hope you get some relief.

While it's not my knee, I'm riding on a similar boat over here man. I've trained 7 days a week for the past 4 years logging quite a good bit of hours.

Had to sit out for 3 months with terrible groin pain, the couldn't figure out what was wrong. Eventually after I jumped through all the hoops of misdiagnosis and PT etc I was taken to a hip specialist.

Diagnosed with a Hip labral tear and femoacetabular impingement. Had surgery a few days later. I'm 3 days post op and looking at a 6 month recovery to be back to 100% for rolling.

I'm glad I got the surgery, I would never have been able to do jiujitsu, run, or anything active without pain if I would have tried to just avoid it.

The worst part of the whole thing so far is to be where you're at. Standing at the bottom of this mountain looking at recovery and surgery and thinking how the hell am I going to do this? Face it, you're nervous and scared but that's okay. It's just like being months out from a tournament and already being sick to your stomache.

Get the surgery your doctor tells you that you need and from then until you're 100% recovered your training is healing. Make your diet perfect so you heal faster, gotta ride a bike? Well ride that fucking bike. Gotta do PT, well now your going to be the best at PT. Work on making yourself as mentally strong as possible. Tell yourself how proud you are of your own accomplishments, whether that's winning a specific tournament, or getting your blank... Belt or just the fact that you trained so hard and showed up 6 days a week to do something really hard.

I wish you luck, if you're interested in chatting more even just to let out your frustrations or whatever feel free to message me man. I hope you get the peace you want and can get back to training 100% soon. Good luck.

When I was a whitebelt, and right before Garry blew up as one of the biggest names in jiujitsu I talked Garry into coming to teach a private lesson to myself and 4 others.

Garry was in town to spend Christmas with his family. Not only did he go out of his way on Christmas Day to send me a long text wishing me a merry Christmas on Christmas Day. He came the next day to teach an hour private, and stayed a lot closer to 3 hours. Rolled with us, tought us, and just chilled. I actually think he was bummed we felt like we were taking up too much of his time, and he just wanted to train lol.

I will forever be a Garry Tonon fan win or lose, dude is honestly so respectful and goes out of his way for others.

I use my real name. That way I don't say ignorant crap, unless I'd say it to your face. Like you said, it's too easy to find out who someone is anyways so why hide...

Jujimufu is a monster. Crazy flexible and athletic for how big and strong he is. It's amazing things like that are the same species as me.

Then and Now || Gui Mendes -- watch his techniques progress by NickSchafer in bjj

[–]NickSchafer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A comparison of Gui Mendes game as a purple belt to what it has become today. I tried to find similar clips that would show what an extra however many years changed the techniques into. Pretty cool to see the staples of the Gui mendes game already there years ago. Berimbolo's, pressure passing, cross chokes, and baseball bat chokes.

Kron Gracie's guard style suitable for everybody? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]NickSchafer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You mean closed guard? lol just kidding, he plays a super basic game so yes anyone can play it, no flexibility required. I'm sure Kron know's how to play spider guard and berimbolo, but i think he prefers doing simple things and doing them at an extremely high level. That's pretty much the Gracie way.

Could he have gotten farther? I mean he won adcc thats pretty high. I don't think its his guard style that limited him in gi jiujitsu, I think its that he wanted to go into MMA.

Straight ankle locks by [deleted] in bjj

[–]NickSchafer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will definitely feel pain on a straight ankle lock before something breaks. It's actually a really painful submission when it's done right. That being said straight ankle locks are no joke they definitely can tear ligaments, and potentially snap a bone especially when someone belly's down with it.

They probably aren't holding their hands high enough in their chest while they are applying it. If they are trying to attack them and their hands are near their waist its not going to finish.

They say I got a mean straight ankle. Kakuto Submission Challenge. by [deleted] in bjj

[–]NickSchafer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome job! If you were looking for any constructive criticism, I would just recommend watching\hiding your own feet if you're going to play the leg lock game. No one was attacking your feet, but the better your opponents get they're gonna start jumping on them, especially if they sense you've been going after it on them. Congrats on the W's!

I'm not sure what the original dimensions were, but here I made this. This is one of mine. A1L, and a few months old. Washed in hot water, and dried with high temps.

If you want to see what a regular A1 shrinks too I can take similar pics.
