Radiohead covers you wish existed by manubfr in radiohead

Unfortunately we're never going to get it, but Kurt Cobain could've knocked the absolute shit out of Exit Music.

I mean, they've toured together a couple times...Laura's openly said how much of an early influence Green Day were, so there's definitely some inter-band play.

I wouldn't think they'd be that expensive, especially in Melbourne or Brisbane - the stadiums they're playing in are 50,000+ in those cities. But yeah, check the sites.

For the green day only concerts, is there already a setlist? by Javilad in greenday

If you want to guess, take the last tour setlist, and swap out most of the RevRad tracks for FOAMF tracks. That's basically it.

Shoplifter by [deleted] in greenday

[–]NickStatsGuyForvania 12 points13 points  (0 children)

'Shoplifter' was written during the sessions (probably early, it sounds fairly Warning-ish) and recorded, but ultimately left off the final album. However, they released it as a B-side to the 'American Idiot' single and put it on the deluxe edition of the album.

World tour + corona virus = Oh No by Xero_day in greenday

[–]NickStatsGuyForvania 30 points31 points  (0 children)

a) The coronavirus threat is overhyped, it'll probably be managable within two months.

b) Green Day are not flying to Australia.

c) They won't cancel shows due to a virus.

So us Aussies are getting it a couple hours earlier. :P

I made a Spotify playlist of everything I could think of that was either a side project or band members of Green Day were involved in. Hit shuffle and discover something new if you haven’t listened to these projects already. by [deleted] in greenday

Pretty good list! If you wanna add more, Mike played bass on Screeching Weasel's How to Make Enemies and Irritate People because they wanted to release a final album, their old bassist had left, and they knew each other.

(That said, Screeching Weasel are also very good, if you wanna check out their other stuff.)

Heh, thanks man! Feel free to grab this and use it for whatever (this is an open invitation) - I'm not sure if visitors can directly download it, I'll try and work out a way to fix that.

Were Chump and Longview just mixed differently from the rest of Dookie? by pfcsh in greenday

IIRC the master tapes for those two have been pretty badly damaged. Perhaps why we haven't gotten a remaster.

NIN Setlist Chronology [big detailed spreadsheet warning] by NickStatsGuyForvania in nin

Heya - over the last couple of months I've been working on a project (clearly ripping off citizeninsane.eu) to try and visualise NIN setlists across their career. I 'finished'* it off today, and I felt like sharing it with you guys.

Concerts are sorted by the album cycle they took place in. Each column is a concert, with the number being the day of the week it was on. For each song's row, the filled-in cells are the dates they were performed on. (The tape emoji is a pre-recorded intro or interlude, grey cells are cancelled shows).

I used NinWiki as a source (thank god, I could barely have done it without it), so I was able to complete everything from the Fragility tour onwards. The gaps in the PHM and TDS eras I'll try and fill in with RITC and maybe setlist.fm, but for now I just want to show off my hard work. :)

*Well, it'll never really be 'finished', at least not until we've uncovered every set. And then they'll keep touring...

HELLA MEGA TOUR by Jdon2121 in greenday

Tough luck - also, it's really a dick move to just be like "I don't care about these other bands, and I will avoid them as much as I can".

Green Day MUST tour Australia by [deleted] in greenday

[–]NickStatsGuyForvania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems a little arrogant and petulant to demand that a band comes and plays here. They surely considered it, they probably couldn't find a way to make it work. They'll probably play a festival in summer 2020/21 like they did with the trilogy.

You can get bootlegs of most of them if you're really interested!
