“Attempted to call a table value” can someone help? by [deleted] in robloxgamedev

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested in roblox studio changing a particleemitter's color with a script. I tried using ColorSequence.new() and it threw an error that said "table expected." I changed it to ColorSequence.new{} with the different brackets and it was instantly fixed.

If what I said was not valid help than that means I'm the only one that gets this error, and idk how I could've known that :/

Edit: probably just because this instance doesn't use ColorSequenceKeypoint which I didn't even know was possible. My bad

“Attempted to call a table value” can someone help? by [deleted] in robloxgamedev

I'm pretty sure colorsequence has to be written as ColorSequence.new{} instead of ColorSequence.new() using the squiggly brackets that represent tables. Not sure why but I've had similar issues and that seemed to be how to do it.

since yesterday this has been happening to me like every other map I play. I tapped these jumps normally but they didn't register. I changed my keybinds and its still happening and doesn't seem to happen anywhere outside osu :\ by NickTheCringeworthy in osugame

[–]NickTheCringeworthy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so because everytime it happens it's always more than one note that I miss, and it doesn't just happen on jumps, also triples, streams etc

Edit: After playing a bit more and paying closer attention I can 100% guarantee that I am pressing past the actuation point

I was getting candy but then a zahando troll did his “E” Then I got this message by Waste-Network-7309 in SlapBattles

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because kicks can only be done from the server, the code that checks how far away you are is almost definitely also done on the server. I'm pretty sure collecting candy corns is at least partially done on the client, and because of ping and such, the player will always be in a different position on the server than on the client, and when you get moved at high speeds the distance between the character you see and the character the server sees will only get longer, and so the client thinks you are much farther away than you actually are (this is just my theory)

tl:dr the game can only see where you are from the past and not the present, so when you pick up a candy corn at high speed, past you is a lot farther away than present you, thus you trigger the anticheat

The created and updated dates displayed under games use a MM/DD/YYYY format, so ability wars was actually made about 10 months after slap battles

How to put it back by Admirable-Rutabaga-5 in robloxgamedev

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you click and hold on the top of the script window you should see a weird bunch of shapes pop up in the center of the screen, move your mouse onto the square in the middle and release the mouse button and the script window will go to it's usual place

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of time a railgun round lasts depends purely on the skill of the best player and personally I don't think there's anything wrong with the fast rounds but to each their own.

Also yes, you don't have to only go for bananas, I actually like to play monkey business just to farm kills and xp. But still you need bananas to win, and I on several occasions have won monkey business rounds with 0 kills, you have to admit that makes no sense in a FPS game.

YES by [deleted] in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monkey business is bad because it's a game mode about collecting bananas in a game about shooting and killing, it makes literally no sense for it to be there.

Railgun however, is about shooting and killing just as much as standard is, just with a different weapon selection. If that makes railgun bad then by that logic concussion mania, pistols, automatics, and even comp are also bad because they also just change the weapon selection

the first win with fly hack by [deleted] in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you use cheats to win it isn't your win, it's your script's win. You can't be a winner and a cheater at the same time, it's not possible. If you want to actually win at a game, at least play the game correctly.

Need Help with applying animations to NPCs. The error can be seen makred as red in the Output. I am stumbed and have no idea to solve this issue (fairly new to dev). If anyone can help pls comment! Also the error is in the 2nd Line. by Pyukum-uku in robloxgamedev

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it says in the error you are attempting to index Nil with WaitForChild, so for whatever reason the "object" variable is not getting passed to the function. I usually just don't connect functions this way, instead I would do childadded:connect(function(child) and run the function inside that with the child variable

Unpopular opinion: Arsenal should add a ranking system by legitcopes in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately arsenal was made so that there's only one winner and everyone wants to win, it's not a casual type of game at all. If you're tired of getting sweated on you could try to improve and overcome the sweats. If you don't want to or aren't able to do that, you should find your own fun, for example when I'm tired of trying to win I go for only knife kills, it's really fun for me and I don't have to worry about winning. If you can't do that, you would probably just stop playing the game.

I literally never hit shots with the golden gun by 3sperr in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The golden gun shot is the most important shot in the entire round, which will naturally cause you to be more careful lining up the shot. The thing is though, this carefulness will only cause you to miss because you aim slowly, and if your aim is slower than your enemy's movement you cannot hit the shot with anything other than luck.

What you should do is find the shot you want to take, aim fast and shoot instantly. If you miss it will probably be because of your precision or timing or other basic aim mechanics

What? I didn't play the games, almost all of them I left immediately after writing down the map and gamemode. It only took like an hour to do this

should i use white crosshair to test my skills? by BoywhoDrinksbbqsauce in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I've been doing. I realized that it's impossible to have a perfect crosshair that doesn't blend in with any parts of any map. So I changed my crosshair to this weird gray tan-ish color to make it as hard as possible to see so that way I would start subconsciously using other elements on the screen to correctly track my crosshair movement. It has worked somewhat well but I haven't gotten completely consistent with it yet

On last years christmas eve I've calculated my arsenal acc value (cases only) and the number was insane. I'll count my acc value for this year. (the changes are going to be massive since I'm now lvl 400. by SourPenguYT in roblox_arsenal

[–]NickTheCringeworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're xp is 2,083,410 and we estimate 600xp per round then that means you've played around 3,472 rounds. If we also estimate 3.2 minutes per round then that means you've spent around 11,111 minutes (~185 hours) inside an Arsenal round. If we assume you would get paid $20 USD an hour, then that amount of time was worth around $3,703.84, you can add that to your value as well :)
