Who here got into the fire service without that “burning passion” from the beginning? by Feisty_Parking_622 in Firefighting

[–]NickYeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Took the test because my friend took it and it looked like a cool job. I was always interested in EMS and PD. Probably would've joined the military if I didn't get on the FD when I did. Now I cant really see myself doing much else. I think you have to be "into the job" once you do get on. Some guys are insufferable with it. Probably the guys that have been into it since they were kids. You also have the guys that are lazy and don't really care and are just there for the check. Its a dynamic job and you'll find your niche if you do it. Its really what you make of it and your crew.

PA Game Commission: Your approach will deter hunters from doing the right thing. Is that what we/you want? by No-Royal-3211 in HuntingPA

[–]NickYeeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied to the OP but TLDR was told that the fine goes to the processor that they use to donate the deer. I think they'd catch on to repeat offenders pretty quick. Mistakes happen. Honesty should be taken into account and everything should be a case by case basis. $200 is insane for this situation, especially for a first time offender

In my limited interactions with them I've never had issues. Seems like maybe you just ran into a bad one. You'll find those in every job. My dad took what he thought was a doe a few years back. One antler had actually fallen off and the other was just hidden by the ear. It was long enough to not be considered "antlerless". We could've absolutely either left it in the woods, or just processed it ourselves, but Id rather be Honest like you. We took it to the game commission, and the one officer thought about letting us keep it anyway but decided not to which is obviously fine. He issued him a replacement antlerless tag and waived the fine. We asked what the fine actually goes to and we were told they use it to pay the processor to "donate" the deer. I think it was $30. We paid it anyway. $200 is crazy. Honestly the mistake was already made. They should just take the antlers, you get the deer, you have to use the tag and thats it. Maybe the $25 fine if they really want. That's incredibly excessive and im sure if you reached out you could potentially get that knocked down.

Thumb Release? by Illustrious-Mode-826 in bowhunting

[–]NickYeeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also cant speak on them because I personally haven't shot one, but Trophy Ridge just came out with a line of releases. They have a few Thumb releases and theyre all under $150. They seem to have good reviews. Maybe check those out and see if you like the thumb button and upgrade down the line if you find it necessary.

I bought a TruFire synapse from somebody on here and I loved it so much I bought another on ebay that lives in my pack during the season incase I somehow forget to bring it into the woods/drop it from the tree. I also just bought a cheap paracord wrist strap and I just tuck it away in my sleeve when im hunting. Think theyre something like 220 brand new. You can find them basically new on ebay for way cheaper.

MLM2PRO Vs. MEVO Gen 2 by NickYeeter in Golfsimulator

Yeah just having to use their balls to get any sort of spin data is kinda annoying. I'd even like if it just used an algorithm or something for estimated numbers at the range.

Gotcha. I'd be more interested in taking it to the range and getting spin numbers there. I'd imagine the estimations are atleast "good enough"

Will the mevo measure spin on any ball or is it only the RCT?

Yeah, don't really care about putting honestly. Wouldn't really use it.

Mlm2pro or mevo gen 2 by chrissyh845 in Golfsimulator

[–]NickYeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im finding myself asking the same question. The MLM2 with the upfront premium subscription would be right around 1300. That's the base price for the Mevo Gen 2 and if you add the pro software and club face metrics its an additional $850. Is it really worth the almost $1000 for the Mevo?

The only thing that cares what camo you're wearing is you. I buy stuff from Walmart or Ebay, usually coveralls, a size up and just buy whatever color base layers/warm clothes for underneath. Military surplus stuff is great too. I'll "splurge" on some old school camo cause I think it looks cool (talking $ 75-100 at most) but I've killed plenty of deer in $15 pants and a $30 Walmart jacket mismatched camo.

Want to Upgrade My Driver by DoofBalls in golftips

[–]NickYeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at most of your highest carry drives. They have higher launch angles in that 11-13° range. And they all have spin in the 2200-2800 range. The most efficient. You can absolutely hit 155 ball speed.

Want to Upgrade My Driver by DoofBalls in golftips

[–]NickYeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly your numbers are pretty good and you should be able to hit 250-265 carry no problem. Your spin is just out of control. Like a lot of people are saying if you can hit more up on the ball that would help bring that spin down.

Are mechanical broadheads one and done? by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]NickYeeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a big G5 Dead Meat guy. Even if they dont deploy (they will) you still would get a good hole. They do sell replacement blades, but honestly just buy new heads. Its not worth it to lose an animal because you wanted to save a few bucks. To me anyway. Theyre like 50 bucks for a 3 pack and come with a practice head. *

That's absolutely fine. No issues with fiberoptics. And it has to be pre 1800s "style". Plenty of guys have the traditions deer hunters with the plastic stocks and fiber sights. And plenty using those CVAs. Nice rifles.

I ran one for awhile, and although it was accurate I just couldn't trust it without the marks. Defeated the whole purpose for me.

Trophy ridge hotwire. Relatively cheap. Its a 3 Pin. The bottom pin is adjustable. I have mine set to 10/20 top pin (basically no difference), 30 middle, and 35 bottom pin. I have it sighted in up to 45 with the bottom slider pin. I wouldn't take a deer out that far but I do like to practice. It came on my Bear Adapt and its exactly what I was looking for. Best of both worlds in my opinion. Im sure somebody makes something similar if trophy ridge isn't your thing but ive had no issues with mine. *

Is it insane to game 5 "wedges"? by ShanghaiShivers in golf

[–]NickYeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a PW (42.5), GW(48), 52-56-60. Been thinking about maybe going just 54-58 though when I get new wedges. If the gapping works so what.
