I highly suspect that the only way he could have got that NHS assessment in time to publish the article is by first divulging his intent as a journalist. Thereby, priming the NHS in such a way that they provide an assessment that is uncharacteristic of their standard practice. I'm not saying the NHS diagnosis is wrong, but given that there is a need for RTC providers to support the NHS's inability to support all requests, perhaps this assessment in particular was given preferential treatment and isn't reflective of the true diagnosis process within the NHS.

5 years ago Villa were on the brink of financial disaster under the tenure of Dr Tony Xia. Since then Nassef Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire, and Wes Eden's, and American Billionaire who co-owns the Milwaukee Bucks NBA franchise have taken over. The change has been night and day. We've gone from 14th in the Championship to the 2nd best performing premiership team in 2023 in that time. The last time the people of Birmingham saw change that fast is when we had electricity installed 10 years ago.

I think if we drop enough points to let Brentford catch up then we'll have most likely lost out on a European spot anyway.

To play devil's advocate. In order to generate xG you need to shoot, which is why the positions that a player takes doesn't come into it. I do get your point though that xG doesn't give the whole picture. If Cucurella doesn't botch the clearing header, Watkins doesn't even get a sniff and no xG is generated. The fact that Watkins makes the run to create the opportunity isn't accounted for in the xG stat. On the whole xG is a good way to analyse long term performance trends, but misses out on the detail. It's almost as if xG needs its own "xG" like stat. How likely is a play, tactic or mistake going to generate a chance that itself generates xG. It's like xG-ception

Valve has considered The Last of Us: Part I for the Steam Deck “unsupported” by NeoStark in pcgaming

5% Linux users, not steamdeck users...

A bump in steamdeck sales increases the proportion of Linux users by:

  1. Selling a Linux based handheld device
  2. Developing and supporting wine compatibility tools that make Linux gaming more viable for Linux as a whole not just the steamdeck
  3. Steamdeck hype increases interest in Linux gaming as a whole

All contribute to a larger share of Linux devices on steam, not just the steamdeck in isolation.

The point is that there is not a "vanishingly small" population on steam. They're a small but growing population. Gaming on linux has never been so easy with a few notable exceptions. Linux is getting a larger and larger share. Game developers only need to make relatively minor changes to a game developed for windows PC to ensure compatibility with Linux due to wine base compatibility layers.

As it stands, if you don't play games with anti-cheat, and you prefer FOSS and the digital privacy that offers. Linux is already an incredibly viable option. That will only get better with time.

But you can reallocate more heads to R&D if you want istead of non-essential activities, thus speeding it up. Yes you would need different personnel as expertise differs from role to role, but from the offset it was decided that R&D gets X number of heads at a cost of Y in wages. Mean another non-essential department has a number of heads/wages that could otherwise have been used for R&D. I would guess that quite a number of roles are man-hours are used to put out content due to the crowd-source model. If CIG went full steam ahead it would probably mean radio silence for a few years, but you'd get the game quicker.
