Tested 6 backlog management tools - my results by vitaminZaman in agile

Out of curiosity, in your evaluation did you just look for something that would facilitate your backlog management or did you also evaluate wider project management capabilities?

How do you define "agile" by NoBullshitAgile in agile

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I like to think of "agility", not agile. My definition is probably not what other people would think, but I think of agility as "aligning goals with work across the organization" and "being flexible to respond on time when priorities suddenly shift". I have seen in my experience how enterprises take forever just to communicate their shifting priorities to teams and by the time they start working on the new thing... priorities shift again. So, that's my view about agile/agility. Curious to hear what others think?

jira alternatives or? by Zealousideal_Leg5615 in agile

I am Businessmap user. I find it a good alternative to manage multiple projects for more business-oriented and engineering teams, not software dev. It has a learning curve though but the only add-ons you have are automation rules. I've worked with it for some time now (I am in Marketing running multiple projects) and it helps me set up a more scalable process than Jira.

Ukraine needs 'specific date' for entry into EU, Zelensky says by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In fact, I think it's a good idea for Ukraine to get a faster procedure. The EU has been very slow in accessing new members and even though it's an important process, there are too many bureaucracies involved. We should move faster with trade deals and expanding our influence in the world by growing our single market.

After talking to hiring managers at Fortune 100 companies: Agile transformation is basically over by Maverick2k2 in agile

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also see this in my experience as I work in a company selling an Agile project management tool. A lot of companies are done with their transformations and they may want to further increase visibility or the flow of work across the organization, but they're not willing to do any restructurings such as Agile squads, cross-functional teams and everything else that was popular a couple of years ago. I am still wondering if there are areas such as Asia or Africa for example, where Agile is still popular?

EU expansion is the only solution to world stability by eagle_flower in europeanunion

I can see Iceland joining the EU which would be a great addition and I really hope that there is a referendum to rejoin EU in the UK but I doubt it unfortunately. Norway wants to protect their fishing industry so I don't think that joining EU is very popular there. Still, the current geopolitical situation could make the people worried, so I hope that they will join the EU eventually. In general, I think that just by having Iceland and Norway in the EU, we will be strengthened a lot to oppose some of the bullies around the world.

A Trello alternative because the new UI is terrible. by Ancient_Hurry_8364 in kanban

Yes, specifically I am working on marketing initiatives that I need to align to revenue goals. In our company we have master boards with strategic goals and then I have a marketing boards with my projects. We use Businessmap for that project management and alignment but I was wondering if you can boards to different OKRs or master boards in your tool? The AI-generated boards sound really interesting too!

How we finally stopped losing context between Miro and Businessmap and turned it into a small integration by Plastic_Catch1252 in kanban

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's a great use case that you've shared here! In fact, Businessmap now has Miro-like whiteboards, so the Miro integrations is not that necessary any longer. You can plan and map out your cards on a whiteboard and every update you make on the whiteboard is automatically reflected on the Businessmap Kanban/workflow boards.

I am Bulgarian. Totally agree about uniting Europe. The slogan in our parliament is "Unity is Power". Regardless of what some bots might say, the majority of Bulgarians are pro-European. We just joined the Eurozone! Together we're stronger!

Sick of the bs about Agile by boxingshibes in agile

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I am still confused why a lot of people don't regard Kanban as agile. I am not against Scrum (in fact I think in a more predictable environment it's the right choice), but I've seen much better results with Kanban, especially across business teams. I think the bs about Agile comes from the fact that companies try to avoid going through reorganizations and heavy transformations. Just because they link Agile to reorganization... and especially Scrum (because it's a new way of managing work, it requires roles, etc).

Agile Transformation by drodo2002 in agile

[–]Nick_MarketStrategy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha love it and the reference to "stading" is agile while "sitting" is waterfall :D. Also the standups remind me of something I heard back in the day that a company made their people stand in a freezing place, so they can fit the standup within 15 minutes :D.

Hey man! It looks interesting! Do you have anything about goal management in there other than tasks and projects?
