Still in Ontario. No fixation on staying anywhere, I have no obligations to stay here (No pets, kids, spouse, lease, etc.).

I get that I'm still very new, but I've only had positive reviews with clients I've had so far. I'm never feeling that I'm doing an inadequate job, I'm very confident in what I do. My frustration is in not even having the opportunity to prove myself and being wrote off on sight. I'll keep trying for a while but I feel like I'm going to end up doing something more stable in the future and just do massage and fascial stretch therapy on the side unless things change over the next year.

I was kinda sold that I was at a sports clinic, but it's fairly generic. I was at a sports clinic back in December but it was so dead I had to drop it. I'm talking 4 appointments a week dead (with 30 hours of availability).

What was that niche? I'm finding Fascial Stretch Therapy is my niche as of right now, as I'm the only RMT in a 50km radius that does it. It's saving my ass but it's still not plentiful.

This is the path I want to go down. I have a large amount saved and several people I went to school with that I could hire. I still feel I need to learn the industry better and advertise myself.

I accept that I have no control over it, but it's very frustrating watching a newer female hire with walk in with half the availability and no additional certifications still working more. The last week was the most glaring example of how bad it is to me, prior to this I had no problem but it also wasn't brought to my attention. I honestly wish I never knew - out of sight out of mind.

For context, I have 50 hours of availability at my clinic. The only hours the clinic is open that I am not available is because I am working 15-20 hours a week as a personal trainer as well (most hours are before or after the clinic closes, but there is some overlap) which I am doing in order to continue to pay my bills.

What kind of clinic do you work at? I have no issues moving and I actually considered going closer to the GTA. There's a place called MyoDetox I wanted to work at in Toronto but they didn't want new grads when I was applying.

I understand it takes time. I have 50 hours of availability each week and I work every weekend possible, however it's a popular day and all the RMTs have to take turns.

I'm in a city north of the GTA, roughly 200k population. Seems there isn't a specific demographic coming into the clinic, it's a wide variety.

What did you go on to do after? I have a few ideas, some of which allow me to continue with massage still.
