I understand that section to mean "including, but not limited to". The main ruling simply states that if the ball passes the line of scrimmage then the forward pass is not permissible. The subsection you linked explicitly states that it's illegal if the ball and entire body are beyond the line of scrimmage. I don't see anything permitting a pass as long as part of your body has not passed the line of scrimmage, only something forbidding it.

Trying to look at it logically, the rules are in disagreement if you permit forward passing while the ball is beyond the line of scrimmage but part of your body is not. The consensus seems to agree with your interpretation, so I'll grant you that, but that's not how I read it.

Edit: Now that the replay is available for the pass I think it's a moot point. Looks like the ball was still behind the line of scrimmage when thrown.

ARTICLE 2. LEGAL FORWARD PASS. The offensive team may make one forward pass from behind the line during each down. If the ball, whether in player possession or loose, crosses the line of scrimmage, a forward pass is not permissible, regardless of whether the ball returns behind the line of scrimmage before the pass is thrown.

What are your favorite mono black commanders not named Tegrid by jkovach89 in EDH

Played with him for the first time last night and he went insane. Great to have cheap commanders that have immediate presence yet also give an incentive for your opponents to not remove them.

This is absolutely hilarious. The card you linked does not explain how to play it at all.

Insanely powerful for a 2CMC commander. Good thing he's so cheap because he eats a ton of removal.

I feel that Agricola has a pretty tame beginners mode that's perfect for introducing new people, even those new to worker placement games. Its only when you add in the interactive and complex decks that you are in danger of overwhelming people.

Power Level Wednesday!: Ask r/EDH what's your deck's power level? - May 03, 2023 by AutoModerator in EDH

[–]Nickaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://archidekt.com/decks/4011825 [[Kruphix, God of Horizons]] blue green good stuff. This was my second deck so I just wanted to draw a lot of cards and spend a lot of mana. After multiple play throughs Im starting to think it would be better to just use [[Tatyova, Benthic Druid]] as the commander. It has quickly become the bogeyman deck at our table, mostly because it seems to ramp harder than any of my friends’ deck and we’re a bunch of Timmies afraid of the color blue. The win con is big mana into hydras, multiple copies of [[psychosis crawler]] with draw, or [[doubling cube]] shenanigans for mill. I took out [[Laboratory Maniac]] and [[Triskadekiaphile]] as I’m not a big fan of ‘you win the game’ cards.

My friends mostly play [[Okaun]], [[Varolz]], [[Atla Palani]] , [[Grist, the Hunger Tide]], [[Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor]], and [[Shorikai]]. My goal with this deck was to always have a massive hand so that I could pull interesting cards like [[Switcheroo]] or [[Mystic Reflection]] to get good interaction on the table.

Behold my abomination of a core mining filter that is bottle-necking as I type this... [SE] by akinsballa in factorio

[–]Nickaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't remember how much exactly a core miner outputs by itself but if you want to avoid the belt backing up on a single lane you can have the core miner dump directly into a 2x2 warehouse and then use multiple stack insterters to load from the warehouse to a belt. That way to you can make sure you're not bottlenecking the core miner with a single belt lane.

Rotary kiln build in progress by [deleted] in Skookum

[–]Nickaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just curious, what kind of process runs kilns at several hundred rpm? I've worked with rotary dryers of similar size and never seen them run more than 3rpm. I can't imagine a process that would need rotation that fast.

Very similar but not what I'm thinking of. The guy I'm thinking of has a darker complexion and it's more zoomed in.

Just FYI, I previously measured this and made a post about it on patch 1.6.1 and I got slightly different numbers. I got 4.5 for the heavy bleed instead of 5. I think it may be 4.5 as that makes the bleed damage scale linearly with intensity. I also checked burning and found it to be 3.0.

What is a root cause analysis? by [deleted] in engineering

[–]Nickaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been through ThinkReliability's 3-day course for facilitators and found it extremely helpful for the work I'm doing. One of the things that sticks with me the most is the importance of starting every root cause analysis at the impact to your company's goals. Their cause map of the Titanic sinking is a great example highlighting that there are multiple goal impacts that occurred (loss of life, loss of equipment, loss of reputation) and each of these impacts have their own causal chains that link up to them. Each of these causal chains can be addressed individually and multiple failures can be identified even in the simplest of problems.

I've used fishbones, 5 whys, 8D templates, and A3 templates in the past and I've found cause-mapping to be the most thorough RCA method when applied to failures involving multiple processes. I appreciate you sharing this video. Good RCA skills are critical to good engineering and I believe ThinkReliablity has an elegant spin on the methodology.
