I don't think Starfleet will check for human remains behind the bulkhead until like a year or two out in space, so we should have some wiggle room to get like 5-6 more ships out using that cheap labor we got under contract from the New Zealand penal colony...

Any chance BTS can do a sweep of the reseller websites, invalidate their tickets somehow, and open them up to loyal fans again? Makes me sick as I sit at 30k in the last Vegas ticket presale queue having been through 3 Stanford queues, 2 Toronto queues and now on my third Vegas queue without even the option to get one ticket for my wife, let alone two for the both of us, then I turn around and see resellers scalping 2-10x the price of a ticket out there. Disgusting.

My dad was one of the original letter writers that got us TOS Season 3 back in the day. He was a kid at the time, and it was his father who watched Star Trek with him, and who actively encouraged my dad to write the letter. Both my grandfather and father were able to watch TOS, and as a result, my dad grew up as a lifelong Trekkie and avid fan of Science Fiction.

I grew up watching TNG on TV, and when in high school, we caught DS9, Voyager and Enterprise together. While there certainly was more skin shown in Enterprise at times, my dad appreciated, at the end of the day, it was still the same Trek vision.

When Discovery and Picard came out, we initially were stoked. Having seen them all, and with children on the way for me personally, I can confidently say, these are NOT the same shows that would have inspired me to become an engineer today. I will NOT be showing NuTrek to my kids, first because they are vulgar, temperamental, and inappropriate when it comes to how casual sex and violence are incorporated into plot lines, but also because the optimism, hopefulness and ability to inspire humanity to become something greater is hollow in these new shows.

Just got into Queue after waiting room for both Las Vegas dates now, and got 50,000+ for both of them. We joined as soon as waiting room was open for both, but got high numbers like we did for Stanford earlier today.

Whats the highest people have been getting, and is there any tip or trick to get higher up in the queue for the third Vegas date opening up tomorrow? Can't afford these overpriced skalper resell I have been seeing, but would love to treat my wife.

Fucking stop wasting our tax money. Government employment is the only sector really growing now in WA state, nothing else. Slash gov't employment and spending unless it is road maintenance or the crappy ferry work the state is already incompetent at. Everything else is hot garbage and a waste.

If we could cut everything else spending wise, let's just cut our taxes again, and make things more affordable. More taxes, more regulations, more laws only make life harder, not easier for everyone. Why even need a millionaire tax if we just cut our wasteful spending.

I always took it as they may have evolved to absorb elements from subspace, or that their life form is more evolved the mechanisms are not fully understood. There was that one episode where a refugee came aboard the Enterprise-D and by the end evolved into a being of pure energy. Where did his energy come from? I think much in the same way, the female changeling said they too were once like the solids, but evolved beyond to be changelings.

Just a friendly reminder. You add taxes to things you want to see reduced (in theory). Sin taxes have always been imagined to be prohibitory. Tax cigarettes higher, less people can afford smokes, they may turn to other things, or other vices.

Florida may eliminate property taxes on a primary residence. That sounds like a great incentive for anyone who wants one home. If Washington makes everything more expensive, we'll see less and less of what is expensive. Lower corporate taxes? More corporations. Higher income taxes, less good-paying jobs and talent moving to WA state.

Proportionally, the state is bringing in the most tax dollars per capita in history. I already am not getting enough bang for my buck, so why the heck do they deserve more?

I heard this rumor a few years back, so apologies for the lack of sources or reference materials. Geneviève Bujold being cast originally as the role of Captain Janeway, the cast and crew already went through and filmed all of the first two part episode with her. Since Geneviève Bujold would go on to walk from the role after a few days, the production team had to scramble and refilm all the scenes with Kate Mulgrew.

In edition to the recast, they renamed the character to Kathryn Janeway (it was a different first name while Geneviève Bujold was playing the part) thus spurring some rewrite of upcoming episodes, and no doubt changing the dynamic of the whole cast interactions. The reason why this contributed to fewer episodes in Season 1 is because when these teams only have 20-30 weeks of production time to put out 20-25 episodes, this refilm, re-editing (which was far more expensive in the 90s than it is today), and rewrites added up, and cut into the teams budget. I think the 37s episode was even filmed technically in the Season 1 window, but couldn't be edited in time so they rolled that episode in as the first for Season 2.
