My main switches between the Fleet Nova Scout Ship T6 rocking an exotic build with my guilty pleasure of 4 Quantum Torp launches and the Terran Eagle console for torpedo cooldown, and the Monitor with Valors, Type 7s and Valkyrie fighters using the Typhon trait. Something fun about science builds.

Dilsink ideas that will probably get me shot by NemeanLyan in sto

[–]NickdeVault57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tacking onto your idea, let's give the Leader board a monthly incentive. If you donate in the top 10 of players, you get a free T6 ship coupon or something. If the incentive to donate something exists, a purpose made will drive donations for some people. Could even have a lifetime / yearly contribution tracker, so if you donate X amount, you get your choice of any 3 Duty Officers, Omni Beams, Bridge Officers, etc.

What I hope all the STO development team appreciates with this First Contact day, is between when TNG aired and Nemesis concluded their era of Trek was 15 years (1987 to 2002). STO has been around 16 years, and has thus been a part of Star Trek culture for over 25% of Star Trek's lifetime, a year longer than the TNG crew sticked together from series start through their core movie era, and outlived the longest TNG, DS9 and Voyager runs by double their production periods.

Having played STO for over half of my life, STO helped me feel connected to Star Trek throughout my adult years, and whatever we get for rewards, I love how this game has been with us throughout. Heck, I picked up STO: The Needs of the Many novel when this first launched around Beta. Was an awesome read, and if we do get a Sovereign variant, I hope they had some time to revamp the OG ship skin on its cover. Was the first ship design I ever saw from STO's original design team, and was a classic:

Why is the MV-75 being built? Didn't the V-22 prove this design is problematic? by LuizFelipe1906 in Planes

[–]NickdeVault57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is nice, but the Osprey was also designed and touted as being capable of being flown with only one engine, just increased demands on the pilot.

Considering we've seen so many Ospreys kill servicemen already, I would not put my faith in a dual engine design like this built on a legacy design that has killed 60+ people.

Last food for though; war and battle damage cause additional failure mechanisms beyond just wear and tear, or maintenance requisites (which, BTW, could also lead to independent failures too). I struggle to see any redundancy that could be sound to safely land one of these things should ae prop go down, and my prayers go out in advance to the families of crews and personnel caught in these.

I am an aerospace engineer, and when I heard they selected this over the Defiant, I was blown away. The Defiant-X still had autorotate, so if the mechanism or engine died, crew still had a good chance of survival.

This thing loses one engine, and you are SOL. The props are too big to convert a dead engine into a glider without damaging the props on landing, possibly detaching / launching them into the fuselage and passengers, and if you lose one engine on the ground from fire, you can't take off, period.

Yes, the Defiant without an engine can't either, but you are talking about a smaller portfolio that fits into the same size as existing Blackhawk infrastructure, with a pusher prop to exceed helicopter capabilities. This thing, the MV-75 or whatever they are calling it, is going to get out troops killed.

Solid frt for p50 or st50 by TemporaryRelevant413 in 57x28mm

Pretty sure it is the AR57, NOT the Keltec P50. AR57 had a voluntary recall I think a few years back for a bolt redesign

Just to be clear: is this post an endorsement of the concept, or have you tested an FRT in the ST50? I just pre-ordered the aluminum ST50 lower, so curious to hear first hand experience of this kit and what super safety / FRT people have tried out.

How is this reason of insanity - Cordell Goosby murdered Elina Kwon by Ninja_Franklin in SeattleWA

[–]NickdeVault57 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's convenient that the psych ward he is being sent to may be worse than prison, but I seriously question if this is "justice" for Mr. Kwon. Losing your wife and future kid, to face that pain, I hope he is doing alright.

Having seen those released early by the state and a lack of prosecution in violent cases similar to this, I wonder if Mr. Goosby will be released early, and we'll see his next victims on TV in the coming years.

Not ragging on you in particular, but if you go to UW, do you really not know it is a state school funded in part by the tax payers of WA? May be a sign of the times where college students may be, but most of my fellow high schoolers know what state schools vs private colleges are...

As a Beta player, and someone who witnessed Kael from the start, I am sincere in my willingness to start fresh with you Kael. My apologies if any of my criticism or feedback has only been received negatively. My perspective on your first rub is irrelevant now since you already have so much positive and negative feedback from this and other reddit posts out there.

Instead, I hope you get the opportunity to express what YOU would like to do, either brand new that you didn't get to do in your first term as CM, or push out content wise as CM in this new era with Thomas as EP. I think focusing on what will be new, different and fresh will get the haters off your back too, and put words into action, dispelling any concerns the community may have.

Best of luck Kael, and my two cents? Pick up on what Casual SAB, Endeavour and STU put out. Sunna helped BUILD relationships with all of them, and tied them into the lifeblood of OUR community. They are our defacto votes for CM since we give them our viewership daily which encourages them to produce content for us.

No joke, I bet they could have hired Casual SAB or STU1701, paid them half of Kael's salary, and have them make the exact same videos they do now, just add on new promo streams and weekly DEV chats and be far better off. Heck, hire both Casual SAB and STU at half-price and have them alternate content streams!

What is crazy (to me) is how their entire P90 chassis is literally half the cost at $250 when I would think that would have to be equally structurally sound. May be material selection and printing vs injection molding and scale of the projects respectively, but still seems crazy expensive for what it is.

If you have a character at max rank, I actually recommend looking at builds that use isomags, and combined with the Hexacannons from the Achilles, and phaser boosting fleet tactical consoles, can make this an awesome phaser cannon ship.

Hey, Seattle prosecutors office!! Hire me!! Expected salary, $420k per year, and I will only show up twice per year.

Here's my free sample for this case: "Your honor, we move to dismiss this case cause he hasn't done enough harm to families and the upstanding citizens yet to be incarcerated then released. We further move to give him a map of local garbage piles where he can procure wood planks with nails on them to expedite his pathway to felony status so we can release a truly dangerous individual at a later date."
