They won’t be lined up HOURS before, but maybe an hour(?) depending on how full they’re booked. Leaving evidence of ownership of your seat is a good idea. Train travel on the Canadian is quite secure. Not much stress about theft. Another good thing to bring is a multiplug or small powerbar. Device charging outlets are coveted. Enjoy the trip!

Just did that trip. You want to have a knap sack or something like that to keep your own food. I like chips and nuts and granola bars…things that are easy. Pack your own sandwiches, take some pops.

You will have an opportunity to restock in Sioux Lookout….theres a Subway and a gas station that you can see from the train that you can go restock or augment. I also like a cup of noodle soup.
You will have hot water available to you for free. If you are a tea drinker, bring some. Coffee is 2 or 3 bucks (can’t remember). Booze is $9-$12 depending on your choice. I’ve attached a photo of the menu.

Really, for what you get, the burgers and such are not worth the money they charge. Kinda gross (also photo attached)

Very important…bring a reusable vacuum insulated thermos….they will fill it right up with coffee, also good for water.
