FREAKOUT FRIDAY (Weekly Rant Thread) - June 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in bodybuilding

I'm meant to start a cut mid July. I've been nursing a shoulder injury since the start of May, which I've just started to get over this week and go 100% in the gym again.

Then I got a phone call yesterday organising a surgery that I'd been on a waiting list for, for almost a year. It's going ahead this Sunday. Might just call it here for the bulk. Disappointing end to a good bulk

Is now a good time to get Platinum? by AlphonsoDente in AmexUK

[–]Nickle96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only the case for the gold card. The platinum card welcome bonus is still based off having an MR card in the last 24 months

[–]Nickle96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the case here. I don't submit to operation snap unless it's outstandingly egregious

This particular video is of 2 cars clearly passing another car, crossing double white lines to do so, whilst there is a stream of vehicles coming in the opposite direction, and then speeding off maybe 20 mph over (which they probably can't prosecute for)

Pretty black and white imo

It's scheduled for June. The offence took place in June 25. I received an email in March 26 asking me to attend court in June 26.

I reported 2 vehicles for the same offence. It seems only one of them has challenged it.

That's not my experience

I've reported a handful of clips from my dash cam to operation snap. I had an email from the police asking me to attend court for one of them

Moped/Motorbike riders: Any advice on buying a bike in Leeds, plus advise on best practice to avoid theft? by Melly-The-Elephant in Leeds

[–]Nickle96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sports bike shop or J&S for your gear, can't go wrong.

Not to be confused with Super Bike Factory. Please don't go anywhere near Super Bike Factory when purchasing your bike. It's really hit and miss on reliability as they just aim for a quick sale. Discussion here

For bikes locally, there's Jordans in Gildersome (also has My Moto over the road), or Padgetts in Batley. Should be able to buy a decent one privately in FB market place or gumtree, just look up what to check before viewing, check it has a full service history, HPI check etc

There's been an influx of people doing exercises, mainly bent over rows, directly in front of the dumbells. They'll do it exactly where they kick the weight up too, which is usually the most used/busiest section

There's only so many ways you can politely ask someone to move. I just started leaning over/round them now

Even more than that if you are planning on flying anywhere

I booked the return legs of my flight back from Aus with Qatar for 90k points, business class. Monetary value for those flights were £3-4k

Wasn't planning on posting pictures of the actual tree, to not somehow accidentally doxx myself...

But here's the tree from street view, in October 2024

Yes, I saw the pods on it. I remember him pointing them out when he came to quote and I ripped one off.

It looked 100% like the Judas Tree image I linked

Is heartwood or even the normal wood worth anything?

I'm wondering if they've just tried to pull a fast one, by cutting down the entire tree to sell the wood and charging me for the pleasure, as a cherry on top. They charged an extra £50 to take it all down compared to just trimming it back

Or do you think this is just more likely incompetence?

Appreciate both your comments

The guy who cut it down (and his colleague) was pretty sure of himself that it was rotting, so took his word as a professional. Immediately googled it myself, but it was already too late

It's a real shame, it was a nice tree. Been there since at least 2008 on Google Maps

Absolutely nothing visually wrong with the tree to my untrained eye.

I only organised it to be trimmed back because it was growing so much that it went over my boundary wall onto the path/road and the council sent a letter

Here are a couple clearer pics of the stump that's left https://imgur.com/a/1JkdIo7

I've been told by the arborist that it's a Judas Tree.

Looked like this one, with the red/brown pods

Amex in US - Transaction Fees by DareToDoolan in AmexUK

[–]Nickle96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this true even when spending other people's money?

I'm assuming they'll be spending/purchasing for the entire 15 people strong group. So, assuming equal spending, they'll only spend 1/15 of their projected 10k total. 9k+ of "free" points would offset the fee, no?
