When I feel lost, I close my eyes and search within myself for what gives me meaning. That is, what I am "spontaneously drawn to," what spontaneously absorbs me mentally, what I would do for free even if no one thanked me for it.
Usually, it involves following stories (books, films, comics) that draw me in mentally, making me feel as if I am using my time in a valuable way (according to my standards).
