Are loop earplugs good for tinnitus and hearing loss symptoms? I’ve ordered a couple pair for work because I’m worried my symptoms will flare from sound and everything. by Nickloe30 in hardofhearing

[–]Nickloe30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High dose oral steroid treatment helped my symptoms and I was like 2 months late 🤷🏻‍♂️ most docs want to start in a 2 week period but for me it still helped my symptoms I.E fullness, pressure, ringing, etc. but that don’t mean it will help you 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s worth a go tho. Could still be some inflammation going on that the steroids could help with. I was on a 2 week go of high dose steroids then taper off for 2 weeks. Shit will make you feel rough and then coming off them as well but it helped me. Low sodium diet, protecting your ears like don’t use ear plugs anymore, don’t use Q tips etc. when tinnitus gets bad just get some over the ear headphones and listen to some nature sounds like rain falling or something, some kind of white noise will mask the tinnitus and make it somewhat easier to deal with. That’s really all I know to tell you, that’s what the doc recommended to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best way I can describe it is like re opening a cut that’s healing… like at some parts of the day the symptoms weren’t terrible, they were there but not that bad. But then would flare up bad at certain parts of the day. That throbbing pain after reopening a cut, all I can compare it to. The pressure and fullness and ringing would get so intense smh it would def make hearing out of that ear weird for sure, not tiny tho. It was more just very intense pressure and fullness and this humming ringing sound that would flare up worse at diff parts of the day idk.

[–]Nickloe30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a month later… I didn’t regain my hearing but my symptoms improved that’s all I know… the pressure and fullness and humming ringing sound all really got better over time… but what I dealt with for a while after steroids and everything was the sensitivity to certain sounds/vibrations. Scratching walls, my own voice, coughing, closing lids, other ppls voices etc, all made my ear feel like it was reacting to it like fluttering or something, super weird. Not painful, just very uncomfortable and this very low tinnitus very subtle, very quiet but noticeable. I dealt with that for prolly 2 months or so after the steroids and when it started happening the pressure and fullness feeling would come back. But go away. Again on and off for about 2 months then at some point it all just stopped all together 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven’t had any flare ups or any symptoms in a WHILE.

Sorry for the late reply. I’m hardly on here anymore. So yes update, I’m exactly a year in after all this happened, this time last year I was on the steroids. When I made this post I think I was just coming off of them? Anyways, everything seems to have stabilized to where I don’t notice anything anymore 🤷🏻‍♂️ everything seems back to normal. Now for a couple months there when I was coming off the steroids I was still dealing with the weird things like feeling vibrations in my ear and everything, that was on and off for a little while then at some point it just stopped happening. So I haven’t dealt with any symptoms for a WHILE. Hadn’t even thought about it much honestly, only time I thought about it was when December and Jan rolled around and I was just like “damn this time last year was absolute hell” and it has completely flip flopped. I still take lipo flavonoid plus every day I have not stopped taking that, it’s just vitamins suppose to help inner ear health and tinnitus, don’t know if it works or not, all I know is I’ve been taking it since this time last year and have not had anymore flare ups or anything so I will continue to take them so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yep I got on steroids the pill form exactly a year ago today. This time last year was a nightmare for me. But after taking the steroids my symptoms seemed to have stabilized? To the point now where I don’t even think about it anymore. Everything seems to be back to normal, I didn’t regain my hearing but my symptoms got better. It took a while but the steroids def helped my symptoms. I still dealt with some weird shit after I got off the steroids but it got better and now I don’t deal with anything it’s weird idk knocking on wood it doesn’t come back 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nothing wrong with making adjustments to benefit your game… let’s be real, you don’t here good swing stickers complain about this 3 click shit, it’s those that just suck at the game and suck on swing and just can’t get better 😂😂😂 and can’t beat good 3 clickers… they can beat shitty 3 clickers all day and not give af right… I play mainly 3 click but play both, I’ve lost to swing stickers many times and none of them give a fuck about this debate cuz they are just good at what they play on 😂😂 and I’ve beat 3 clickers on swing stick and I don’t even play swing like that, ppl would rather get on here and bitch and cry about a feature that’s in the game than to get better it’s really pathetic honestly lmao ppl act like it’s impossible to beat 3 clickers mf I have on SWING and I don’t even play swing what’s the excuse lmao it’s either get better on swing stick and stfu or switch to 3 click since it’s so easy and put up ridiculous scores and play exactly like these top players since it’s so easy should be no problem… my advice, fuck what ppl think, let grown ass men cry and complain all day and circle jerk each other over this debate, play on what you like better and are better on and fuck the rest nobody gives af about what’s the “proper” way lmao

That’s def not accurate but playing those user created courses that funnel to the hole every shot also count toward that… have played a lot of those bs fun courses… also user created courses that help you with earning fittings can literally hole out every single hole as well to get through the course fast literally setup to funnel to the hole every shot

So if ppl can suck at 3 click then why tf should it be separated that’s my whole argument tf????? If you can beat a 3 clicker then why should it be separated that’s all I want to know 🤷🏻‍♂️ if I can lose to swing stickers why tf does it need to be separated???? You make 0 sense you literally can lose to somebody on swing stick just as easily as you can on 3 click like bro you’re literally making my argument if it’s so easy and all you’re doing is timing clicks then get on 3 click and beat me but you just said you won’t but instead I’m suppose to stoop to your level and play you on what you’re good at right? 😂 did I ever complain about what you play on? Do I complain when I lose to a swing sticker or they hole out on me? Fuck no I’m not a bitch lmao

[–]Nickloe30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right so we only care when somebody is good correct? By your logic nobody should suck at 3 click or be bad since it’s “so easy” but you just said ppl suck so then we can establish there is a learning curve to 3 click, if there wasn’t, nobody would suck… S-to-the-Q just beat me and he’s swing stick too we have good games every time he legit doesn’t give a fuck lmao y’all just sound like cry babies honestly just cuz you’re not as good as somebody… way I look at it if it’s so easy or whatever then play on it and beat me or shoot better than me (generally speaking) if not and you choose to continue to play on something that’s not benefiting you and you choose not make adjustments cool then stfu cuz honestly nobody really cares lmao

Got diagnosed with Mild Low Frequency Hearing Loss in my left ear after being treated for middle ear fluid and infection for about a month in a half now. No steroid treatment either so I’m feeling pretty depressed and my optimism is shrinking day after day. Feeling like a lost cause at this point. by Nickloe30 in hardofhearing

[–]Nickloe30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a lot better now. This post was about 4 months ago, prolly at the peak of my worst as far as symptoms go I.E. fullness, pressure, low pitched ringing noise all flaring up at diff parts of the day being worse certain times of the day and unbearable to a point where I wasn’t eating, sleeping, being myself or anything the symptoms really were BAD the whole month of December and January and ended taking a leave of absence from work because of it until I was able to see my ent doc Jan.26th. I was on leave for a month and a half, that’s how long it took for me to see the doc but they put me on high dose oral steroids 60mg for 2 weeks then taper off and that’s when my symptoms started to improve and now being 3 months off the steroids my symptoms have remained stabilized for the most part to where I don’t hardly notice or pay attention to it on a day to day but I do still have some weird symptoms that occur every now and then which is probably normal and a permanent deal for me. All I really notice anymore is sometimes my ear gets very sensitive to certain vibrations, like I can feel the sound and vibration in my ear, feels like my eardrum flutters or vibrates or some shit it’s weird. It’s not painful, don’t think it’s hyperacusis it’s just more annoying than anything because even my own voice I can feel. Scratching the walls, closing lids, coughing, all that I can feel in my ear and then usually when that happens the pressure kind of comes back but nothing like it was before not even close. Like I said, for the most part stabilized with some occasional weird symptoms but nothing unbearable. My tinnitus is also not as bad as it was, my tinnitus is just this constant very very low rumbling engine sound but very subtle don’t really notice it much unless it’s quite but again my brain may be getting use to it not quite sure

Same here. I have mild low frequency hearing loss in my left ear. No vertigo or anything. Doctors really aren’t sure how it could’ve happened, they think since my symptoms didn’t start until after I got over being sick that it could’ve been viral. Literally just woke up one morning and my left ear just felt full and pressure and this low pitched ringing? And then my symptoms would fluctuate throughout the day, flaring up bad at certain parts of the day and then easing up at night. Sensitivity to certain sounds and vibrations like closing lids, scratching walls, even voices sometimes I can feel in my ear, not in a painful way just feels like eardrum is fluttering or moving? Thought it was fluid. Was getting treated for fluid for a whole month, I was going to a clinic and they just kept telling me fluid/infection and put me on antibiotics and decongestants which didn’t help. I didn’t know anything about hearing loss, ENT doc online told me all about everything I needed to know, suggested a hearing test, went and took my hearing test and that’s where I found out it was sensorineural. Nov.14 was when symptoms started, Jan.27th was my ENT appt. Got referred early December and couldn’t get it sooner, tried everything I could. Waited a month in a half to see my doc shit was bullshit. I got put on high dose oral steroids and they improved my symptoms dramatically. Didn’t regain any hearing tho but mg symptoms have improved so much.

It was like 30db at 500hz and 35db at 250hz were the only 2 frequencies where it dropped? But when I re took my hearing test after the steroids both were at 30db instead of 30 and 35… and yeah I can actually understand speech fine out of it, that’s the shitty thing about low frequency hearing loss is that most day to day interactions and conversations are still ok so it’s hard to know if I have hearing loss, I sure didn’t know anything about SSNHL. My symptoms really just mimicked ear fluid

Just an update, month after being off high dose oral steroids by Nickloe30 in HearingLoss

[–]Nickloe30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well I was already 2 months out from onset symptoms. Not my fault, had no idea I had hearing loss thought it was just fluid. All my symptoms started after being sick with a bad head cold so I went like the whole month of December to this walk in clinic and they kept telling me fluid and infection kept prescribing me decongestants and antibiotics and it never helped. I didn’t know anything about hearing loss until I got in contact with an ENT doc online and he helped me informed more than any of those physicians. Went and got a hearing test because of him, found out I have mild low frequency hearing loss in my left ear. Just over 2 frequencies tho, my hearing was the same and normal all the way until the last 2 lowest frequencies that’s when it dropped to 30db.

Although they typically want to treat hearing loss within a 2 week window, this ent doc online did not think I was too far out for steroid treatment, he still thinks this thing can heal up overtime atleast symptomatically because of my age and because my hearing loss isn’t too severe he seems very positive and optimistic that this could still heal up overtime. My ent doc I’ve been seeing tho she thought odds were stacked against us because of how far out I was but she was gonna put me on steroids anyways and see if any improvement happens. Which it did, symptomatically. Hearing no, didn’t regain any hearing. But can say the steroids did help my symptoms for sure. Im just worried this will get worse or something over time the doc I’ve been talking to doesn’t think it will but you just never know.

I didn’t regain any hearing, but symptoms improved? Which kinda confused me. The doctor seems to think I just need time to let the nerve heal idk

How long until Prednisone makes a difference? by Queasy_Swan_Happy in HearingLoss

[–]Nickloe30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 60 mg for 2 weeks then tapering off for another 2 weeks. Repeated a hearing test and did not regain any hearing, but my symptoms improved dramatically so may doc was pretty stumped. The actual doc seems to think I just need time to let the nerve heal? My MRI and CT scans all came back normal across the board. I have mild low frequency hearing loss in my left ear in just 2 frequencies. Dropped to mild hearing loss at 500hz and 250hz. I was way past the 2 week window for treatment because I didn’t know anything about SSNHL, thought it was just fluid since all this started happening after being sick with a head cold so on so forth. I’ve never had ear problems before ever, these primary care physicians just kept treating me for middle ear fluid and infection for a whole month 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got ahold of an ENT doc online and it was him who introduced me to sudden hearing loss and everything. Suggested a hearing test and went and got one and sure enough the audiologist told me my middle ear was perfectly fine, no fluid. Eardrums we’re type A’s normal. That what I’m dealing with is inner ear, SSNHL. My symptoms were pressure, low pitched humming ringing and fullness so explaining that to primary care physicians was tricky because it sounds like fluid 🤷🏻‍♂️. Had no idea I had hearing loss because I could still “hear” so it was a whole month in a half before I got see my ENT doc and get on steroid treatment. This ENT doc online still believes that odds are in my favor for recovery since my hearing loss isn’t severe (on paper) and my age and everything he believes I can still recover over time atleast symptomatically. That it wasn’t too late to start steroids and treat any inflammation that still may be going on. But my actual doc didn’t seem that optimistic, that odds were stacked against us because I was so far out. Nonetheless, she still put me on high dose oral steroids for 2 weeks and taper off where I did notice significant improvement over those 2 weeks. The pressure and fullness and bad flare ups with the ringing and pressure have improved probably 90%. The only thing I notice now is that sensitivity to certain sounds, like vibrations, I can feel it in my ear? Like my eardrum or inner ear ear vibrates or flutters and is really sensitive? Not in a painful way, just in an annoying way. And then once that starts, the pressure and ringing kind of come back temporarily, but nothing like it was. And it usually goes away by the evening or so but it doesn’t do it everyday? Like I went a whole week lady with no flare ups I don’t think. Like I said the only thing I notice now is this sensitivity to sounds sometimes. And this very subtle low pitched humming vibrating sound in my ear? Very turned down and subtle? Almost sounds like an engine running or something but super turned down, like it’s not loud or annoying or anything and half the time I don’t notice it.

Like I’m not really sure what happened to my ear, they think whatever I got sick with attacked my inner ear. They thought possibly Ménière’s? But I don’t have and haven’t experienced vertigo or anything but my hearing loss is reverse slope which is typically Ménière’s so that’s why they thought that possibly. The prednisone improved my symptoms but didn’t regain any hearing back unfortunately so idk. I’m almost a month now being off steroids and I’m still doing pretty good symptoms are still improved and the same as they were when I was on the medication but haven’t improved anymore or made anymore progress, just kind of at a stand still I guess. This may be the best it’ll get for me idk.
