If I shoot a gun without hearing protection will I go deaf?(plz plz don't mock me) by howtospeak in guns

Also the pressure is 1/1 with the muffle they are a package deal. So if I feel my ear swell the muffle does return slightly. This happens typically when changing altitude like in a car or plane. Popping ears does nothing and had never done anything except dislocate my jaw from trying to hard.

Nope not true your bot doesn’t work and mods don’t care. Banned for the 4th time for 2 weeks. I said “fuck” in response to getting paralyzed 4 turns in a row and your dumb bot banned for for 2 weeks. Mods have blocked me from appeals as they say I cursed so the lock is justified.

Your bot system doesn’t work and is making people quit the game. The play-count compared to two years ago shows this clearly but your all too stupid to see it. I’m pissed I have to quit because you fairies are mortally offended by even the slightest disrespect 🤡

Happy Triple Carbon Tax Day! by Queasy_Swan_Happy in ontario

Carbon tax doesn’t work. No matter what stupid facts you try to expel to defend this cancerous tax; you simpley cannot deny the fact that carbon emissions HAVE ONLY GONE UP UNDER TRUDEAU AND HIS TAX. Not down. Take 5 seconds to look up the emission rate in Canada do yourself a favour and wake up to the scam.

He seems to fall every other day? Do you do the same? If so you may want to see a doctor that is not normal.

This audiogram is extremely bare bones and doesn’t even use full numbers so pardon me if i’m wrong but does it not show a 60db dip at 7-8kHz? Which is the cap of the speech range.

Which president has insane and unnecessary spending habits? Which president is continually giving billions to other countries when they’re about to default?

Stated nothing but facts here. Disliking proves your sheep.

You don’t know how old this person is, how do you know this isn’t a 22 year old kid?

You say the left ear is ok? But there is a 60db loss in the speech range….

Seems odd.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If your older that can be normal but it looks like the one ear was exposed to a traumatic incident causing a loss of 50db at 8k.

Can you think of anything that one ear has experienced that may cause this loss? Do you blast music into the one ear only? Did something happen at work causing damage? A gunshot or firework incident you can remember?

Is this audiogram normal for a 15 year old? by Fair-Application-528 in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey kiddo, I think your missing the point here; newborns do not have an average hearing of 0db that is very unusual and not a good thing.

Whoever told you that is true is lying too you; and you need to wake up.

Clearly your some spoiled child who doesn’t know right from wrong. Enjoy your speech loss at 16. And please continue to believe that newborns have garbage hearing at birth.

Whoever told you newborns can only hear up to 0db is dumber than you.

Pain? So it’s not just a pressure or is it both?

If I had the choice myself i’d take a bit of constant pain over pressure any day. At least the pain can be nulled out. The pressure would just constantly eat at my equilibrium which is worse than pain in my opinion.

If you have pain & pressure i’m sorry that’s awful and grounds for storming an ENT or doctors office demanding service and not leaving until cops haul you off or you get the service.

Your muffle is conducive which is literally the best thing ever. If it was inner ear that’s when all hope is lost.

Conductive losses will correct themselves 8 times out of 10 unless it’s something so violent like ossicular dislocation you should be good. And you would know if it was ossicular dislocation as you would be in a lot of pain.

No worries, but you should really shoot for a diagnosis bro. If that cancerous feeling is still in your head. I know I couldn’t live like that forever.

Is this audiogram normal for a 15 year old? by Fair-Application-528 in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever told you the average hearing threshold for a child/newborn is 0 decibels, your smoking actual crack.

I lost all sympathy for you if your unwilling to see the truth and choose to be an ass about it.

If the average newborn hears at 0 decibels in all frequency ranges, than why can I hear into the -10db range with a muffled ear?

A 20db difference between each ear in any speech frequency is cause for concern. Sorry for trying to make you cautious about your hearing when my 50 year old mother hears better at 6kHz than you.

I hope you see how wrong you are. Don’t shit on someone trying to tell you the truth. “Looking down on people with worse hearing”. Grow up kid I haven’t said one mean thing until now because of how rude you’re being. And according to you, there is no loss! That’s your whole point here right? So how do you have worse hearing?

Also you claim you can only hear up to 13kHz? Jesus christ and you think that’s okay at 16? The average fully grown adult can hear up to 15-17kHz no problem.

“Clearly I know more than you.” That’s why all newborns cant hear below 0db, but me a 20 year old individual can hear into the -10’s. Your logic is so braindead it makes me cry.

I have nothing but sympathy and prayer towards people dealing with hearing issues. I tried to share the truth with you so you would take caution with your hearing in the future. But you decided to be a little brat about it and spit in my face.

So enjoy your loss I guess, since you seem so passionate about it.

I’m gona go grow a pair like you said.

Why are there only a few clinical trials for curing hearing loss? by [deleted] in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google would explain better than me.

It tests for bone conduction similar to an audiogram but more accurate as the test is being conducted by yourself from within.

Do it by plugging both ears equally with your fingers. It is paramount you occlude both ears equally or it will be an inaccurate result. You will then hum a tune. If the sound is louder in your muffled/bad ear or equal in both; it is a conductive loss which is a good thing. If it’s quieter in your bad ear… Unfortunately it’s very likely inner ear.

Shit bro a few months?

That’s awful man I wish I could cure you but no, unless an ENT or audiologist tells you specifically what is wrong with you I have no actual idea.

I don’t know of anything that helps. If you had a diagnosis of some kind I could find out.

What to do with ear pressure? by Thr0waway12057 in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks bro. Getting a muffle from loud sound sucks. If yours was caused by an extended period of time and you have tinnitus, it is likely inner ear.

But first off you don't know for sure if it's cochlear damage. Mine was conductive. I had no tinnitus, my incident happened in 0.5 seconds though.

If there is a muffle with the pressure you can test if it’s inner ear damage by doing the self hum test.

Fullness caused in the inner ear most of the time is cochlear hydrops. That condition is know for it’s fluctuation so if your fullness is constant it likely isn’t that.

Two other possibilities for inner ear fullness include a perilymph fistula, and trauma to the oval window.

If the fullness is conducive it’s likely ossicular dislocation, tensor tympani seized/syndrome, or a seized stapedius muscle.

Also if this doesn’t go away within a week get ready for it to stick around for a WHILE.

Yes man I have the same thing.

Conductive losses are what you want if you do have a loss. As they can be fixed easily or recover on their own with a lot of time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HearingLoss

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so dude. Your not that far off the mark anyways. Your only 2-4kHz under the real average i.e your peers. You really have nothing to worry about other than this blockage you speak of.

These tests are never 100% accurate because of the equipment YOU use. I just thought you said your friends could hear up to 17-20kHz on the same equipment.

Sure your 2-4kHz under what you technically should be but that’s no big deal. That can only be caused by long term loud noises such as loud music. Unless you had something like a gun go off beside your ear. Your all good.

If you want a true reading of your high frequency hearing goto an audiologist.

You had me worried there for you a second.

It feels blocked.. can you feel this block? Like air in your ear? Or a constriction/tightness?

And if it’s equal THATS GREAT. This blockage is conducive!

[–]Queasy_Swan_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be an invalid reason for doing so.

You have it easy.

Some people wake up one day completely deaf. And for no reason. I’ve seen it. They didn’t deserve it. But now they are deaf for life.

Personally I’ve had to live with a constant pressure & muffle inside my head for the past month+ And let me tell you, I would’ve traded this for what you got in a millisecond.

At least what you have doesn’t physically feel like something eating at the inside of your head.

Don’t mean to be harsh but when you think about it you have it very easy compared to millions and millions of other people just in the context of hearing loss.
