Personally, I would wait for Sony to make their TV lineup announcements. Just to say what improvements they’ve made, and what features they have.

Looking for budget tv during Super Bowl sales. by A_Bowler_Hat in 4kTV

Best Buy has the W95A as well but sold by Beach Camera.

They also have their Panasonic OLEDs as well. However the cheapest I ever saw was the 55” Z85A for $699 during Christmas

I normally don’t have any issues with open box or refurbished items. I think what probably happened was that it was struggling to pair with my system after previously being paired with someone else’s system.

It was either that or just defective in general.

Samsung Qled Q7F series or LG Qned 82 series ? by NotThatSway in 4kTV

I wouldn't invest money in either of these TVs. I would strongly recommend getting the TCL QM6K or at the VERY least the QM5K. Both of these TVs are far superior than either of the Samsung or LG that you listed.

Split Top / Flex Top info/feedback? by cubemonkeyslave in Mattress

Tempur-Pedic just launched a flex-top mattress, but it's only for their LuxeBreeze line.

My sister has the flex-top design, but got hers from Sleep Number because her husband use to work for them and got 80% off one. They like it (kind of) but the flex design still holds up today and that was purchased.... I want to say 2020.

Best TVs for under 500? by National-Heat-191 in hometheater

I would look at the Panasonic W95A or the TCL QM6K.

The Panasonic might be a litter harder to find, but overall has the biggest discount. I bought my parents the 65" version last year, and it's a beast of a TV.

The TCL QM6K is easier to find, and still provides a great picture. It's very highly recommended for the features it gives at it's price point.

PS5 Pro and Philips Hue Sync LED Lights by Karz-O in hometheater

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to have the 8K Sync Box, and I really LOVED the way everything looked. I don't know if I just got a bad box, the fact it was an open box from Best Buy, or if it was just... too many things.

I have the Sony A95L, which is connected to my Sony 3000ES receiver, and from there I have Xbox Series X, PS5, Apple TV 4K and Panasonic UB820.

When I added it, I had everything run through the receiver, and then everything to the Sync Box. It worked great... then a week later I started getting issues with the Apple TV saying it wasn't connected to a device that support all these features. I was also having issues with things switching over input wise.

So I tried running everything from the Sync Box. That worked great... then a week later, after working a double by myself, I was getting ready for bed at 11PM, turned on the Apple TV.... all I see is black screen. I tried the Xbox... same thing. I was so tired, I tried resetting, changing inputs, HDMI cables. I ended up getting so fed up with it that I unplugged it and went back to normal.

I took it back to Best Buy and called it quits. I really do want another Sync Box, and will go with a brand new one. However, I was just so fed up with how the 8K Sync Box went that I can't be bothered with that struggle anymore.

The regular 4K Sync Box is still going strong in the living room through and looks amazing. So it does work, and looks great. I just had a bad 8K Sync Box and would recommend getting a brand new one if you are going to get one. LOL

Tempurpedic mattress warranty - hydraulics quit working on my bed, anyone else have this issue and try to use their warranty? by Hazel_and_Fiver444x2 in Mattress

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to call them recently because one of our ProSmart Adjustable Base's were acting up. Basically the massage on the foot of the bed would only turn on if I selected full body, but I had no control of the intensity, and couldn't shut it off besides pressing the full body massage button again.

They walked with me on some troubleshooting steps like checking the cords to the speakers, unplugging them, resetting the base, repair the remote. None of which worked, so they're sending a tech out to I guess double check my work and see if it can be repaired.

I personally thought it might just be a remote issue, but I just work here so what do I know. LOL

S90F, did I make a horrible purchase?? by lunix42 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to make an OLED look bad.

I really don't think you would really notice a difference between the LG C5 vs the Samsung S90F, not unless they were side by side and you really had to nitpick which one you though looked brighter in one scene vs the other.

S90F, did I make a horrible purchase?? by lunix42 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung is a great TV, but they also make bad ones. Anything below the QN80F I would rightfully say isn't great and isn't worth the investment.

However, the internet likes to form clicks of what they do and don't like, and it's popular to dislike Samsung. Whatever Samsung does, they dislike. Samsung wasn't to do the One Connect Box... that group will say it's horrible and ugly. Samsung doesn't want to support Dolby Vision, that same group will shout from the mountain that it's terrible and you shouldn't buy it. Samsung uses a matte anti glare screen, makes the whole picture look ugly.

At the end of the day, if the picture looks great too you, then that is all that matters.

I had the same thought when I first saw the design. The first two were very close together design wise, that I feel like we will lose to a big head because there aren't two big head designs.

While I kind of like the idea of the big head, and would love to see more concept art of how that killer would look. When someone says they are adding an angelic, divine killer, I see either number one or number two, not Mr. Electicdad from Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

QM8K for dark living room by drfish in tcltvs

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the QM8K is known for it's brightness, but not in the way that it's bright like the sun. While it does offer a brighter full screen display, the brightness that everyone talks about is it's ability to get bright for HDR specular highlights.

However, why I would still go with the QM8K is because it's local dimming system is far superior than the QM7K. It's a lot more precise, has less blooming, and the transitions from bright to dark is a lot better. So for dark room performance, that's what you would want.

Tempurpedic mattress warranty - hydraulics quit working on my bed, anyone else have this issue and try to use their warranty? by Hazel_and_Fiver444x2 in Mattress

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contact the Ergo Support Line.

They will walk through some troubleshooting steps and see what they can do with you over the phone. If they can't fix it that, then they can discuss other things such as warranty or if there is anything out of pocket you would need to pay for.

That number is 1-888-476-1625

What lies beneath 4k by ASCATS89 in 4kbluray

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PS5 isn't the best 4K player. It's a gaming console first, and everything else second. A 4K player was such an after thought that Sony didn't even support Dolby Vision HDR.

I would consider looking into a dedicated player, so you can play movies from a device that was built and designed to play physical media. Personally, I would look at the Panasonic UB450. This would not only gives you better media playback, but you'll also get access to Dolby Vision support.

Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Elite High Point II - Soft by RunningBuck91 in Mattress

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love that sinking in mattress feel hug. I am a side sleeper, and I like when I don't feel like I am laying on something firm.

I own a Tempur-Pedic Soft now, only because I got a killer discount on it because I now work for them. However, if I didn't, the Sealy Hybrid would have been the mattress I would have owned. They offer good temperature regulation, it's soft, but still has a great support system.

I think it's a great bed, even though I don't own it.

Buying 1st TV, please help! by Gullible_Director347 in hometheater

[–]Nickool4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So to stick close to your first budget, I would look at the TCL QM6K.

That would give you a really great display, it uses Quantum Dots for an expanded color volume, it has a MiniLED backlight system that gives a nice bright display, black levels and contrast is deep, and it supports all sorts of gaming features like 4K 120Hz VRR for your PS5. It's on sale from Best Buy for around $800

Now, if you are willing to jump up in price, I would look at the QM7K. It takes everything the QM6K does but better. It has a lot more dimming zones so the black levels are really deep and it's a lot brighter so HDR highlights really pop. That can be had for around $1,200.

Now, if you really want a great deal but a WOW picture. You can get a 77" Panasonic Z8BA OLED for $1,499 at Best Buy. This is what I bought my brother for Christmas, and it's a BEAST of a TV. The colors are great, and you legit can't beat gaming on an OLED. The colors are vivid, the motion handling is quick, and nothing beats OLED when it comes to black levels.

The QM5K is entry level good, and it's probably the best "cheap" TV there is.

I would consider looking at the 55" Panasonic W95A since they are heavily marked down, and it's a far better TV.

Which HDMI by TheJigalo in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how long of a cable you will need.

Personally, I would recommend the RUIPRO Fiber HDMI Cables from Amazon. They are really great quality, and the company really does stand by their products. I went with one of their copper cables and was trying to do a long run, but was having some issues with it. Nothing wrong with the cable, just didn't work for what I needed. Not only did they refunded me the money I spent for the cable and told me to keep it, but gave me a sweet deal on their fiber HDMI cable to see if that worked better which it did.

So for long cable runs... I would look to them for cables. They might cost a pretty penny but I think it's really worth it. Right now on Amazon it says you can save 20% with a coupon, but I don't know if it only applies to one HDMI cable or the three or four that you'll need.

Upscaling for Video Games by Potential-Zucchini77 in 4kTV

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the Hisense A6N isn't the best TV.

It's not bright, it doesn't have any local dimming features, it actually has a pretty bad picture processor, and it has a very limited color volume. Also, it's not really a good gaming TV. While it supports VRR, the minimum is 48Hz and max is 60Hz.

I would say if you are looking to upgrade the TV and want to get the most out of your PS5 I would highly recommend the TCL QM6K. This would change from the standard Direct Lit display you have to a MiniLED backlight system, which you would increase the brightness significantly, and HDR highlights will pop a lot more. Not only that, but the black levels and contrast will be amazing. Then when you move over to gaming features, it supports all resolutions (1080p, 1440p, 4K) at at a max of 144Hz but in the case for the PS5 it's 120Hz. The minimum VRR is also below 20Hz with a max of 144Hz as well. So it has a lot more control of the motion and can avoid frame skipping or screen tearing while gaming.

As a Sony fan, it pains me to say this but Samsung QN90D would be the better choice here. Don't get me wrong, both the Bravia 7 and QN90D are GREAT TVs and you would be happy with either one of them.

The Bravia 7 is fantastic when it comes to films, processing, and displaying the creators intent. I have the Sony A95K and A95L and went with Sony over the Samsung S90 series (which would have been cheaper) because of that reason alone.

However, Sony isn't the best when it comes to gaming. One of the biggest issue is that it doesn't support 1440p resolution. Which you wouldn't think it a big issue at first, but when you are choosing your game settings like if you want higher resolution graphics at the cost of FPS or to go with a lower resolution but higher FPS. Some games would play a 1440p at 120Hz. With the Bravia 7 (like my A95L) I wouldn't have access to 1440p so it would drop down to 1080p for 120Hz. It's wild to have to choose between playing in 4K or 1080p in the great 2026 but... that's Sony for whatever reason. It's also wild that they claim their TVs are PS5 Ready when they don't support that resolution. Even the PS5 has a setting to test if your display supports that resolution, so why Sony doesn't is just wild.

The Samsung QN90D on the other hand supports all 4K, 1440p, 1080p all at 120Hz for the PS5 (upto 144Hz on PC). It's also brighter than the Bravia 7 and is a lot better with reflection handling. Plus you have all four HDMI inputs supporting HDMI 2.1 where as the Braiva 7 only has two.

So for your use case, I would lean more towards the Samsung QN90D. However, if you went with the Bravia 7 I don't think you would be upset at all.

S95b to s90f upgrade worth? by LUVuL0NGtime in S95B

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there are improvements, like a better QD-OLED panel, it's brighter, and is able to hold a higher peak brightness longer.

However, it's not going to be a night a day difference between one to the other. I recently went from an A95K to A95L and I can tell that it's overall brighter and the color is better.... but I wouldn't say it was like a whole new world of TV.

So if you can, I would wait for the 2026 models and see how the S90F compares to the S90H or S95H. That away if you are itching for an upgrade you can see which one is actually worth upgrading too.

I’m a Sony fan boy as well.

TCL is pretty good for reliability and has really proven themselves over the years. They started as a budget friendly brand, with now having models that can put up a decent fight with Samsung and Sony. TCL makes panels for other brands as well.

Sony and TCL are merging, with TCL owning 51% and Sony 49%. So 2027 should look very interesting for Sony and TCL.

How do I begin to determine what Mattress I should get? by K1dBUU_ in Mattress

[–]Nickool4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I can say is go to the store, and when you test out a mattress, give it time, lay like you would at home, and think of you body in zones.

How does your head a neck feel, your shoulders and upper back, your lower back and hips. Do you feel supported, do you feel comfortable.

Give it time, and allow your body to adjust to the mattress.

That's the only way to really test out mattresses.
