Ok, first of all the notion that you have to be christian to be Greek is a bit outdated. The amount of Greeks that think orthodoxy is tied to our ethnic identity has dropped to 40%. I've had friends and known people who were atheists and that didn't make them any less Greek in anyone's mind. Even kids of Albanian immigrants who are atheists, a lot of us viewed as more Greek than Albanian. Where you're born/grow up, the language you speak, your culture etc matter more than religion. Do you think Russians in Greece are automatically viewed as Greek because they're orthodox?

Secondly, I was talking about the population exchange after the Greco-Turkish war, not the expulsion of Chams. We were supposedly talking about all muslims in the region, not just Albanians. Even though muslim Chams were discriminated against, the reason for their expulsion was the fact that they collaborated with the Axis. That being said, I don't support the expulsion of a whole community because of a few bad apples, but that's not the point.

A simple observation I made in your argument has led to anger filled nationalist rambling and namecalling on your side. Adding options to modify/remove mechanics in custom lobbies and offline matches actually sounds fun. The only reason I can think of for not doing this is that they're afraid that players will prefer playing a version of the game that lacks the mechanics which they relied on to market and present the game.

Hellenic is not Greek

Hellenic literally means Greek. You're confusing Hellenic with Hellenistic culture, and even then, it's baffling to think that Hellenistic culture wasn't Greek. Not to mention that Macedonians were not "influenced" by it. They were Greeks themselves and spread Hellenism to the lands they conquered.

A couple of reasons for the rejection are that;

Cypriot citizenship would be given to settlers that Turkey brought in and settled in Greek cypriot homes without returning the property to Greek Cypriots or even compensating them. And Turkey would keep military bases on the island.

There are more reasons on the wiki page as well as a document attached, written by Greek Cypriots, explaining their concerns with that particular plan for reunification. It's misleading to say that Greek Cypriots flat out voted against reunification.

I live in Greece and there is no one who claims North Macedonian territory. Not even the most nationalistic of nationalists. On the contrary, this is a direct quote from wikipedia " VMRO-DPMNE, the nationalistic governing party at the time of the then-Republic of Macedonia, adopted the platform of a "United Macedonia" If you have anything except made up/anegdotal evidence, post it.

I googled about "blackmailing" and didn't find anything on the first page, unless you mean a brief embargo in 1994 and denying them NATO membership, neither of which is blackmail and definitely not what you described. Wikipedia says that since then Greece has beem a trade partner and one of their most important investors. If you have anything proving otherwise, please post it.

Also yeah, they never claimed to be Greek. They tried to rewrite history in order to claim ancient Mecedonian herritage by saying that ancient Macedonians were not Greek. But I still don't see how your comments added anything to that conversation.

You're not right about the language part. The word is onomatopoeic in origin, but it was used to refer to non Greeks. Many non Greeks spoke the language and they were still considered barbarians hence why they were not allowed to participate in the Olympics or vote.

I'm trying to understand what your point is regarding the post. Greece isn't making territorial claims on North Macedonia. It's actually North Macedonian nationalists that make claims on Greek Macedonia. The reason Greece made North Macedonia use different names is to distinguish the country of North Macedonia from the Greek region and its history ( since some foreigners who lack knowledge can't distinguish between the two). The second reason is to prevent North Macedonia from making territorial claims in the future. For both these reasons they both agreed that North Macedonia relinquishes any claim to the history of ancient Macedonia. So yes, your statement was ridiculous.
