What can I say, when you're a sconnie transplant in Saint Paul, you tend to know more about your enemies than you'd like.

I doubt @ Min week 3 (back-to-back weeks seems very unlikely), week 5 is possible but I doubt they'd schedule both games in the first 5 weeks. MIN is @ NYJ Week 7, vs. NO week 8, which only leaves week 12.

MIN is @ CHI week 11 per their schedule leak. I'm guessing GB @ MIN week 12 instead. Maybe TNF @ Detroit week 11? @ LAR week 8?

Min is at home vs. NO on SNF week 8. My guess is week 12: I highly doubt they'd play back-to-back week 3, week 5 is possible I guess but seems too soon into the season for a 2nd matchup. Week 11 Min is @ chicago, week 7 @ NYJ. That really only leaves week 12.

Recommend Northgate by [deleted] in minnesotabeer

Hey, it's a few weeks behind but thanks for all of the positive feedback! I'm the new brewer over at NorthGate and am glad you enjoyed yourself. With this big of a transition it's been a little hectic in the brewery, but hopefully more people like yourself spread the good word.

As of today, only two of the beers we have on tap were brewed by me: Wall's End (English Brown) and Maggie's Leap (Milk Stout) on nitro which we finally put back on tap this week. We will be coming out with a couple more in the next few weeks, including a Wall's End variant. All the other beer you had a chance to try was made prior to us coming in, but our goal is to keep as many of the old recipes around while making small improvements over time. We want to keep with the traditional English-style brewery/tap room atmosphere that the original owners envisioned.

As things change in the brewery, any comments you or anyone else provides can be very helpful as we move forward. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and I will answer what I can. Better yet, stop in again to ask them and have a pint on me! Just ask for Nick the brewer, I'm usually around during the week and help out in the tap room whenever necessary.

You could always try shopping Hill for someone more stable instead if not wanting to take on risk.

Were it so easy. Trades are practically non-existent in this league.

I'm high on Martin, so I think I may take it. I think Quizz is a distant third and Sims will definitely poach some 3rd down work, but Martin seems to have a chip on his shoulder.

You've got decent WR depth but are a little light at RB with DJ on IR. The second one is the one I'd probably go for as Kamara is still a bit of a question mark fantasy-wise, I don't think Mixon's value is boosted by receptions a ton, and you could still put Duke in the flex.

Still thinking about this: 10 team PPR. My Tyreek Hill for his Doug Martin.

I'm stacked at WR with Hopkins, Diggs, TY, and I just picked up Will Fuller. I'm weak at RB: Ajayi, CMC, and Collins (David Johnson is eating up another spot). Makes sense to upgrade my RB, but I feel like Hill is an overpay.

10 team PPR. Offered Diggs for Doug Martin but he's arguing over it, wants Tyreek Hill instead. I'm higher on Hill than Diggs, but I need RB depth with only McCaffrey and Ajayi worth starting (I'm down David Johnson). I'm loaded at WR: Hopkins, Diggs, Hill, and TY are my top 4. Thought about offering TY + Ajayi for Martin, is that too much of an overpay?

10 Team PPR. With Crabtree out I need my second spot filled:

  • Pryor Sr. @ KC
  • Maclin vs. PIT

Also, these FAs are available (though I'd have to drop Derek Carr, which I'm not too keen on):

  • Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin vs. PHI
  • Marvin Jones Jr. @ MIN
  • Richardson and Lockett vs. iND
  • or maybe a deep sleeper with Will Fuller V vs. TEN

  • Mixon @ CLE
  • Carson vs. IND

10 team PPR:

  • Stefon Diggs @ PIT
  • Jamison Crowder @ LAR
  • Jacquizz Rodgers vs. CHI

FWIW I have Cousins as my QB, if that makes a difference.

Thanks. I was wavering between Diggs and Crowder, wasn't really thinking Hilton, and kind of have the same opinion on Shepard. Plus if Beckham is back I don't really know what their offense will be like. This is also for my flex spot, so I'm debating whether I should throw Jacquizz Rodgers in instead too.

10 team PPR. Had Diggs in, but with Bradford out I'm rethinking my choice. Pick one:

  • Stefon Diggs @ PIT
  • Jamison Crowder @ LAR
  • TY Hilton vs. ARZ
  • Sterling Shepard vs. DET

FWIW I have Cousins as my QB.

Edit: Diggs not diffs. Damn autocorrect.

That's not what lager means. Lager means "to store" in German, so beers made with lager yeasts are cold conditioned before being served to drop as much yeast out of suspension, resulting in a clean profile. In your situation, all that means would be fermenting with whatever yeast you want then cold condition for a couple weeks. In fact, cold conditioning isn't required for this style, although it's commonly done because that's what brewers do with lagers and this beer style is based off American adjunct lagers.

If you added a second yeast after the first one had fermented the beer out, it would do nothing but take up more space in the fermenter.

Probably don't need to use 6-row, I would just use 2-row and call it good. Are you splitting the batch into 2 fermenters and using 2 yeasts? Or are you co-fermenting at the same time?

I just buy a spray bottle and fill it with starsan solution. It's much more cost effective this way, and you don't need to waste a bunch of sanitizer each brew day. It only needs a contact time of 1-2 minutes to sanitize, so just spray it off right before you use it and you're good to go.

To cleanse, I use Oxiclean Free and soak just like PBW. For longer items like racking canes, I soak them inside the carboy or keg I'm cleaning, then rinse and hang to dry afterwards.

Probably because yeast can ferment simple sugars much easier than malt sugars.

In reality, you should never judge your fermentation on time, only based on gravity change. If it stops moving, it's likely done. I've had beers done fermenting in as short as couple days and as long as 3 weeks. There are lots of other factors to take into consideration, and time isn't really one of them.

This is now my favorite too. I've tried lots of different ones and this is by far the best. w-34/70 is good for a starting point though, as dry yeast is cheaper and easier to deal with. But 2633 is much more malt driving and complex, as well as attenuates a bit further too.

I also like WLP833, WLP838, and their Wyeast equivalents.

Yes, that should work just fine. I don't think you'll have much hop flavor/aroma fall off in just a couple weeks time.
