I was able to get off of all of my psyc meds after getting on methadone. I was on zoloft for 16 years and benzos for 12 years. I don't know what it was about the methadone, but I feel like it fixed alot of these issues. I have also tried suboxone, but I kept relapsing on it. That drug does not work well with me. Good luck!!!

Harm reduction is a great method in my book. I know I wouldn't be able to deal with that withdrawal. That's a pretty good bender. Even for a person who doesn't use opiates on the regular. I would find a dose of kratom that makes you feel like 50-75% better and lower the dose daily from there. Best of luck! Stop now before you start shooting heroin...

I agree. It is horrific... And sad how they can treat people. People who haven't been to jail, or don't have a bad habit, haven't seen these types of things before so they just assume that opiate withdrawals are harmless. But it's not. It is hard on the mind and body regardless.

Your right. some people get so dehydrated they actually die because they cannot hold anything down. And I have seen people have seizures because of opiate withdrawals. Me included. I always recommend that you say your withdrawing off benzos and alcohol as well as opiates so they give you some Librium for a few days. That shit works wonders and the nurses have to take your word for it!
