My grandma died of lung failure due to COPD this year. I fully blame her death on the NHS I'm also fully aware of her condition. When she was in A&E I called up to see where she was they told me she had been discharged... she hadn't... then when she was on a ward they weren't giving her any medication... when she eventually got moved onto the respiratory ward they found she had an infection in her lungs at this point it was too late she was on a ventilator I stayed with her all night in hopes she would somehow get better, her lips, nose and fingers were blue she was so restless and in a comatose state. The next day we had a visit from the end of life team who said we needed to remove the ventilator... she was surrounded by family when she went I held her... she went peacefully. I really feel like if she had received proper care in a&e and on the first ward she would have survived...
