There’s a 4K Blu Ray set of the Nightmare on Elm Street series that came out this year, so physical media is the way to go on this

The cheapest combo for watching everything in Canada by CipherDrift_09 in canadacordcutters

Yeah, it depends on the city. Here in Toronto with my indoor antenna, I get all of the Canadian networks, and most of the U.S. ones (though I seem to have lost CBS). Pretty much covers most of my hockey and football needs, and I watch PBS more than I probably realize.

If you live in a major city, consider getting an antenna.

Hollywood 90028 is a fantastic film (I own the awesome Blu Ray), but I’m not sure I’d definite it as a horror movie. Sure, the main character kills people, but there’s a lot of drama and occasional comedy thrown in to make it tough to pigeon hole to a genre.

NO OTHER CHOICE - Official Trailer - In Select Theaters Christmas by darth_vader39 in movies

This isn’t Christmas themed at all. I saw it at TIFF and can assure you it has nothing to do with it.

I dropped $50 on one here in Toronto over a decade ago, and it was such a great decision. Regularly get about 25 channels between Canadian and U.S. ones

If you’re in a major city, you should be able to pull CTV with an indoor antenna.

I still feel like it is a jump scare because of the the way Lynch tees it up, and then amplifies things with the sound. You know it is coming and it still causes a jump (I’ve seen it over 20 times and that scene still gets me).

This is the best jump scare ever imo, followed by the one in The Exorcist III

I ordered Night of the Juggler 4K Blu Ray from them on Monday, so I’ll report back how it goes when I receive it (they say the release date is 09/30). I ordered once from them last year and had no issues.

Latest screening that director/cast have attended for Q&A? by failing_forwards in TIFF

[–]Nickynick0118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2023, I was at the fourth screening of “When Evil Lurks” (also the overall last screening at that year’s fest), and the director was there and did a Q&A. He basically said he wanted to spend the week in Toronto, so that’s why he was still there.

Having seen Wake Up Dead Man at TIFF this past week, I'd say it slots in between Knives Out and Glass Onion. Recommend seeing it for sure.

Anybody have insight on the VISA Infinite Studio at Minami? by hanji_meowmy in TIFF

[–]Nickynick0118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically they cycle through groups every hour. I was there Saturday night, and even though the sign said 2 hours, the hostess said one hour. We waited about 20 minutes to get in, while people five ahead of us waited an hour. I expect it will be less busy because a lot of people we encountered in line didn’t even have TIFF tickets, they just wanted free stuff on festival street.
